COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wild Wild Brett is a series of R&D beers created to showcase the versatility of Brettanomyces, a yeast found naturally all over the world. Historically considered ”wild yeast”, Brett is responsible for 100% of the fermentation in the bottle you hold. Green, the fourth installment of this series is our nod to absurdly hopped beers. Showcasing the Australian Galaxy hop, W.W.B.G. uses 4 lbs of hops per barrel with dank tropical fruit hop characteristics dominating the flavor and aroma.

Bottle @ RBWG Asheville. Awesome aroma. Citrus candy, urinal goody-smelly cubes. Taste is a bit of a letdown after smelling the beer, watery, citrus, biscuits. Still good.

Bottle - Perfumy Bret, herbal and fresh. Cloudy yellow with a rich white head. Chalky, peach and some candy like sweetness. Smelled awesome but fell short on flavour.

Bottle at RBWG Asheville Grand Tasting. Pours hazy yellow with a frothy white head. Food bretty funk in the nose, some citrus hops, straw, diapers. Light to medium sweet flavor with relaxed brett, pale bread, lemon, tangerine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lingering brett funk in the finish, lemon meringue, straw, melon. Good stuff.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2014 Tasted at a tasting in mid-2012 from a capped 750mL bottle. Pours cloudy bright orange with a massive white head that slowly recedes to thick, messy lace. The nose is super funky and earthy with some resin hops, citrus peel, and a lightly creamy aroma. The flavor is the same, super funky brett, and plenty of earthiness with the nicely bitter resin hops and citrus peel. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long super funky and lightly bitter finish.

Tasted again at RBWG Asheville 2014 with similar results. The flavor was much funkier with the nose a bit more subdued, but it was still an excellent beer.

Hazy sunkist orange with a thin sticky laceful head. Aroma is a little sticky and pungent with fermented fruity tones like funky lime and papaya and guava and cactus flesh with a slightly vegetal sour note. Body is full and very sour though a little watery and lacking carbonation. Sour with a very infected flavor bit has a more dull sourness than a sharp one. Flavor brings back some of that guava and cactus tone, but finished infectious and pale. Eh.

On tap @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day. Hazy orange pour with a big white head and great lacing. Big brett, pineapple, mango, orange peel, citrus hops, light spice, biscuity, and doughy aroma. Taste is brett, tropical fruits, oranges, somewhat grassy - doughy/biscuity backbone - medicinal, herbal and fruity with a touch of lacto on the back-end. Medium body with soft carbonation. I definitely prefer this one out of the bottle, but it is still one tasty beer and he has definitely built on this profile with Hop Savant. I would like a little more carbonation though.

A - Hazy golden-orange with a big finger of off-white head. Fades fairly slowly. S - Sweet grainy and wheat malts, grapefruit, tropical, pine, floral, and grassy hops, funky brett, tart green fruits. T - Sweet grainy and wheat malts, grapefruit, orange, citrus, pine, grassy, and floral hops, some smooth bitterness, tart green fruits, funky Brett. M - Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth with a funky, tart, and lightly bitter finish. D - Interesting wild ale. I like the balance of funk and hop character.
