COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like all of the Wild Wild Brett Series, Violet is a 100% Brettanomyces beer. Violet was brewed with pomegranate and lavender and fermented on whole fruit passion fruit. After fermentation Violet was then dry-hopped with an experimental hop (Ex. 366) that we received from our growers.

Admin Note: Aging on "Extra Passionfruit" and dry hopping (an already dry hopped beer) does not necessitate a new entry.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 Bottled, early release. It did indeed have some carbonation. This one is just spectacular, nice sourness, good funk, but the passion fruit and pomegranet character is jsut so fucking good.

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy orange body with a medium white head. Aroma of pomegranate, lavender, leather, lime, pineapple, and orange. Flavor of lemon, brett, pomegranate, passion fruit, and florals with dry oak finish.

Bottle... Murky amber pour with no head. The nose offers medium-roast malts, toasted oak and vanilla. I’m picking up no fruit here. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and Key West carbonation. The flavor is bready, fruity – peach, moreso than passionfruit or pomegranate – and moderately tart. Short, crisp, tangy finish. Bottle provided by 50belair!

Cloudy gold pour. White head. Flavor is floral, sour, stone fruit, lemony notes. Fucking awesome.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2014 Tap @ Crooked Stave dry hopped with 366. Pours a murky bright orange appearance with a white head. Super musty, funky, barnyard bretty, passionfruit, herbal/floral hoppy aroma. Really very nice nose. Moderately tart, light berry, pomegranate, tropical fruity, very herbal floral flavor that dries out pretty nicely on the finish. Really nice stuff.

750 ml bottle shared by NielsenRatings at RBWG grand Tasting. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor had nice fruits, pomegranate, citrus, floral notes, earthy hops, wood, mild funk, nice tart character. Probably my favorite of the series.

750 ml bottle shared by NielsenRatings at the RBWG Grand Tasting - thanks again, [email protected]! Pours a hazy gold, kind of on the dull end of the golden spectrum, with some loose bubbles for a head. Notes of lemon, herbs, pomegranate, lavender, passionfruit, wheat, dough, and white pepper. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tart, herbal, spicy mouthfeel. Awesome. My favorite of the WWB lineup, just above I and Y.

Hazy dark orange with a medium rocky white head. Aroma is nice and fruity with juicy sticky aromas of plum, grape, dry hopped floral tones, mango, and succulent peach. Flavor is nicely balanced, with a nice interplay of juicy sweetness and dry hoppy bitterness. Good mild carbonation too. Nice juicy plum and grape and mango flavors give a nice sticky tropical tone, then there’s this drying bitterness of dry hopped earthy floral and tropical hoppiness. Medium but palatable dry bretty sourness throughout.

Tap at Beachwood BBQ Seal Beach for Sour Fest. Pours a full haze glowing peach orange with minimal foam, no lace. Nose is extremely tropical passionfruit smoothie. Taste is lactic, clean, lemon/lime/citric with juicy passionfruit. Palate is thin, near watery, but quenching with mild sourness. Very drinkable and quenching. Loved this one.

Tap at Crooked Stave. Dry hopped with 366 experimental hops and passionfruit added into the barrel. Murky orange pour. Weaker white foam. Spotty lace. Nose is out of this world : fresh blood orange, pomegranate, juicy key lime, bright sour fruits, passionfruit smackdown. Taste is salty, key lime, sharp blood orange and tangerine. Zesty, super fresh body. Long, lactic, citric palate. Outstanding. 6/1/2013 9/4/8/5/17=4.3
