COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like all of the Wild Wild Brett Series, Violet is a 100% Brettanomyces beer. Violet was brewed with pomegranate and lavender and fermented on whole fruit passion fruit. After fermentation Violet was then dry-hopped with an experimental hop (Ex. 366) that we received from our growers.

Admin Note: Aging on "Extra Passionfruit" and dry hopping (an already dry hopped beer) does not necessitate a new entry.

Tap at Beachwood BBQ Seal Beach for Sour Fest. Pours a full haze glowing peach orange with minimal foam, no lace. Nose is extremely tropical passionfruit smoothie. Taste is lactic, clean, lemon/lime/citric with juicy passionfruit. Palate is thin, near watery, but quenching with mild sourness. Very drinkable and quenching. Loved this one.

Tap at Crooked Stave. Dry hopped with 366 experimental hops and passionfruit added into the barrel. Murky orange pour. Weaker white foam. Spotty lace. Nose is out of this world : fresh blood orange, pomegranate, juicy key lime, bright sour fruits, passionfruit smackdown. Taste is salty, key lime, sharp blood orange and tangerine. Zesty, super fresh body. Long, lactic, citric palate. Outstanding. 6/1/2013 9/4/8/5/17=4.3

Pour on tap at the brewery, dry hopped with 366. Hazy orange pour with nice fluffy white head, aroma brings nice notes of floral hops, mixed into nice fruit with orange, grapefruit, passionfruit, nice peach and tart lemon, hints of oak, vanilla sweetness mix into a touch of grass, biscuit, and more floral notes from the hibiscus, mango and peach also come through. Taste is a perfect blend of sweet fruit with passionfruit, peach, mango, slight biscuit, vanilla, oak notes with even more pineapple, slight grass, floral notes come through more towards the end as well, finishing with a good mix of dry, tart, and sweet. Very tasty, could drink a lot of this!

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy orange pour with nice fluffy white head, aroma knocked you over with passionfruit, big big passionfruit notes, slight floral earthy tones, nice tart lactic notes with lemon, slight vanilla, oak in there as well, but the dominant nose was passionfruit. Taste was a mix of tart lemon, biscuit, slight vanilla going into dominating passionfruit, slight floral, grass notes, hints of funk as well, finishing tart, slightly bitter, dry. Intense, but almost to a point where it is too much.

750ml bottle shared by jmborggren. Hazy golden orange color. Thin, bubbly white head. Good floral, fruity, citrusy pomegrantey oak sour aroma. Kind of lemony. Bigger body. Lighter carbonation. Kind of slick texture. Moderate to bigger sour taste, lightly spicy, moderate sweet. Solid, interesting, slightly floral pomegrante-fruity sour. This is an interesting series.

Bottle with thanks to Boost! Shared with friends. Pours hazy golden orange, small white head, some lacing. Aroma is quite floral, lots of oak, herbal, some Bretty funk and earthy basement aromas. Flavor is dry, floral, funky and just a light tartness, herbal. I guess lavender. Light body. Really really tasty.

750 ml bottle to taster (shared by jmborggren). Looks good; a cloudy orange with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes floral and sour notes with a nice, tart mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Pours fuzzy orange , small white head that fades instantly . Smell is very floral , sweet, even soapy ( in a good way ) Good carbo Taste is way less sour ? brett than expected . Very flowery , sweet - in a green way - very much passion fruit , light mouthfeel , yet enough taste .

Bottle at Frank’s. Pours a deep, hazy peach body with nice minimal lacing. Aroma is beautiful tropical fruits, tart citrus, pineapple and funk. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of passionfruit, melon, funky citrus fruits, musky lemon and a nice sour character. Super sessionable and perfectly balanced.
