A complex blend of fine English Malts, Blackout is a porter ale produced from a unique 1930’s recipe which has only recently been recovered.
The rich, smooth taste will help you relax and unwind, but treat with care, this porter is not called Blackout for nothing.
We hope you enjoy a taste of the past.

Cask at the Lamb Chiswick, near black with a lasting foam, lots of cocoa and a dry-sweet roasty bite. Hints of treacle and distantly of roast beef.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2017 Source: Pub (Cask) Expectation: 'Smooth chocolate vanilla porter' Were expectations met: yes Findings: It has a mild mocha - coffee aroma. It has a thin espresso type crema head. The taste is smooth milky latte with a touch of Vanilla. There are malt buiscuity toasty after- flavours. All in all a fairly pleasant pint sized experience ! Would I drink it again: Yes

½ Pint Cask split by two with SinH4 @ Waterloo Tap. Happy B-Day! Black, little tanned head. Nose is cacao, chocolate, coffee, low herbal. Lovely round stupidly drinkable cacao & chocolate taste, sugar, mildly sweet, insanely drinkable. Really tasty & crazily drinkable. This is really lovely.

Bottle. Vanilla and light roast in the aroma. Nice blend of chocolate and vanilla with a gentle roast aftertaste. Fair sweet stout, but a little thin in the body. Later found out it was a porter!
