[email protected] Bar, Copenhagen - (this most definitely is not retired) pours dark Amber reddish brown with a small white covering. Aroma and taste is sweet caramel and toffee, with a plethora of dark dried fruit, slight nutty, nice hoppy backing, happy to have tracked down this elusive "whale" :)

A bit tainted by the ever—present IPA curse ... Still enjoyable though!

Cask @ Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. Dark redish brown colour with off-white head. Fruity hoppy aroma. Flavor is sweet malty with a nice fruity hoppiness. Has a nice bitterness in the aftertaste. A good winter beer.

Sobchak (131) - Skagen, DENMARK - DEC 4, 2005
(Cask, The Wharf, Aalborg) - Dark brown colour. Spicy hoppy nose, and a fullflavoured and potent hoppy taste, with a slight nutty dryness in the finish.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2006 Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen.
Fine off-white head, hazy deep chestnut colored body. Lots of hops in the aroma with notes of fruit, nut and toffee. Flower and fruit hops dominates the flavor. Very fruity with a bitter dry finish. Flavorfull and very tasty.

MiP (16113) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 20, 2004
Cask. Nice fruity aroma. Dark chestnut colour, creamy white head. Sweetish tea-like flavour. Quite bitter flavour and aftertaste. Very malty, but balanced well by the bitterness.

ThomasE (5174) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 10, 2004
Cask at Charlie’s, Copenhagen. A brown/ reddish body with a small beige head. Aroma has a sweet maltyness with some fruit and caramel. Flavor is sweet with some fruit and a lovely hoppy bitter finish.

Ungstrup (39314) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 25, 2004
[Cask at Charlie's Bar, Copenhagen] A dark nut brown beer with a fine beige head, though collapsing. The aroma is light of fruit, caramel, and nuts. The flavor is flowery (roses), fruity, and rather sweet, but with a nice grassy hoppyness, and a bitterness that balances the sweetness, and lingers on the tongue. A great flavor.

fiulijn (21559) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 11, 2003
Brown-amber color. Very nice aroma, flowery, elderflower... Bitter, fresh, flowery, wonderful (delicate elderflower again). Long, persistent final.
A giant flowery bitter.
