New beer, pale and featuring the US hop Ekuanot (which we loved from the very first sniff!). All tropical fruits and soft bitterness – just great!

Bottle from Hop Beer Shop, Chelmsford. Pours very slightly hazy golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, hop, grass, tropical fruit, flowers and lemon. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Finish is dry, with citrus bitterness. Nice.

August 2017 - Cask handpull at GBBF 2017, Kensington Olympia. As 'Crouch Vale Ekuanot'. Golden orange, clear and still, foamy off-white head. Aroma is musty, a little cheesy, slight orange. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is cheesy, light lemon, straw. Decent enough. (5-4-6-4-14=3.3)

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Very hazy orange beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and has a fairly modest carbonation. Dry malts, trace of grain and mildly sweet. Hops bring a pithy orange and orange peel. No Ekuanot exotics. Dry and slightly bitter finish. Disappointing. Crouch Vale have done better single hop Golds.

Cask at the Evening Sttar, Brighton on 28th August 2017. Gold with off-white lacing foam. Intense peel and citrus zest aroma. Grapefruit citrus hoppiness in-mouth. A fruity, zesty finish. Zingy mouthfeel and a lot of body. Exquisite.

imdownthepub (15656) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2017
Draught at The Bacchanallia - Mill Road, Cambridge. Hazy gold with white head. There is a pithy, cat pee, orange character to this from the start, the Ekuanot hops are set up quite pleasantly with this. Some floral zesty hints. It’s fine.
