Pours a slightly cloudy golden with white head.Quite sweet on the nose with floral hops, vanilla and a bit of malt. A very smooth beer due to a roasted malt flavour, but the fruity hops dominate. A hint of vanilla on the finish, and a bit too yeasty on the palate for my taste.

Draft at Brew Craft in Tauranga. Clear golden with a nice white head and lively bubbles. New Zealand hop aroma, tropical, dank, funky. Flavor is dry and hoppy, New Zealand all up in your shit. Unapologetic. Light and crisp feel with a lasting hop blast. A great hoppy pilsner, the quintessential showcase of what NZ hops can do to an otherwise meek and unassuming beer. Croucher stopped crouching and started crushing with this one.

On tap at Brew Rotorua. Pours very pale. Funky grass is very prominent, peach, lemon, quite a sharp finish. Not the crispest, and that sweet peach becomes a little cloying, but overall not bad.

330ml bottle 2/2/2017 Fruity aroma with a touch of sulfur. Poured light straw with good head and lacing. Mild bitterness which drops away to nothing much. Not much body at all. Underwhelming.

2016-05-10. Crisp pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of grassy straw and pale malt. Flavour is surprisingly bitter, grassy hops, more alcohol prominence than I’d expect given the abv. Average to light bodied palate, lots of carbonation. 6-7/3/6+/3/13+ On tap at Brew, Rotorua, NZ.

Clear, bright yellow color. Tiny white head. Malty and fruity aroma. Very delicate, quite clear. Might be a bit more intense, but still it’s ok. In taste on the other hand it’s awesome. Taste like with addition of passion fruit and fairly amount of fresh new wave NZ hops. Huge surprise. Mouthfeel is also great, perfectly carbonated, crisp and clear. One of the best pilzeners I had for a long time!

Aroma, unfortunately, is dominated by vegetable water, cheese and onion, with some floral, light citrus and moist dark bread sneaking through. Malt is coarse and roasty for a pilsner, the middle is sticky honeyed grapefruit and floral, ends fairly short and dry with a pleasing lingering bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2017 A reasonable pilsner, although I’ll still go for PA or IPA every time. Long clean finish and slight resinous aroma

blipp (9373) - La Mesa, California, USA - OCT 9, 2015
Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Spicy hops, mild bitterness, and a soft grainy base. Good stuff.

GlassBrass440 (321) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 30, 2015
Pours a crystal clear gold with short lasting bright white head. Big tropical fruit aroma as the bottle opened. As the beer sits in the glass a more traditional sharp, spicy character shows through along with some grainy pilsner malt. Tropical fruit flavours merge seamlessly into malty sweetness before taking a right turn into a crisp bitterness. The finish turns back on track with a smooth sweetness that lingers along with a refined bitterness.
