This looks great, smells fantastic but still lacks a little something. Still very nice Black IPA, and in keeping with the style. Maris (1515) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - OCT 2, 2012
From a 500ml bottle on 2/10/2012. Pours a dark amber with a small head. Has a moderate fruity, hoppy aroma with just a hint of chocolate. The flavour more full on with an interesting mix of roasty, resiny bitteress, set off against some sweet citrus fruit and touch of toffee. The carbonation is typical of an IPA. All in all, an enjoyable, high quality black IPA. DuffMan (10436) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 9, 2012
Bottle, shared with Grippitis and Parksy. I’ll begin by saying that never in my biggest hopes did I imagine finding such delightful kiwi microbreweries such as this one, here in little Medicine Hat! I had Croucher beers while living in New Zealand, and I’m so pleased that they have met such success to be able to offer their products around the world. This poured a dark chestnut brown with a tan head. Aroma surprised us all... by not being very appetizing. It was dominated by barnyard and pig manure notes, some wet compost. Pretty gross really. The flavours were much better, nice roast malt and soft tropical fruit hops. Moderately bitter finish. interesting brew. gramity (1668) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 4, 2012
Dark beer with ruby highlights, poured with a large frothy head that laced the glass well. Heavy citrusy hopbag aroma, bready malt notes on the nose also. Medium bodied beer, which drinks like an IPA and finishes roasty. Very well balanced beer. pintbypint (3642) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 1, 2012
From a 500ml brown bottle. Blackish pour, tan head with nice creaminess. Mild lacing. Light roasty nose, aromatic NZ type hops with a white wine and grassy sharpness. Taste has bright grass and citrus with grapefruit hops. Mild malts. Finishes with decent bitterness, grassy hops linger. Dry end. A bit off centre for black ipa, but overalll really good.

500ml bottle pours almost black in color with a 2 finger white head that has good retention and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is passionfruit and citrus with some caramel and roasted notes. Taste is passionfruit and grainy malt sweetness with some citrusy hop bitterness. Light to medium body with decent carbonation. A tasty brew that is highly recommended. KeefOz (1842) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2012
Poured an opaque brownish black colour. Moderately thick beige coloured foamy head that disappeared fairly quickly. Aroma of hops. Taste dominated by roasted grain. Medium body. Finishes long, slightly sweet with slight bitterness. A tasty black ale! Rangi (672) - NEW ZEALAND - JUN 17, 2012
Really like this style of beer so found this beer really enjoyable. Nice dark almost pure black pour, slight tan head. Nice floral hops with a nice amount of bitterness dominate the palate. Nothing over the top just a nice beer. fonefan (49427) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAY 14, 2012
