On tap @ Crowbar. This is a crystal clear dark whisky colored one with a small island and sidesticking light beige top. Not to extreme on the nose. They are really airing the chlorine here at the pub today, so that kinda disturbed the nose a bit. Some sweet light fruity tones with red apples and candied toffee sugar. Mellow on a way. Light oily almost a bit thin on the mouthfeel and the carbonation is above average. Some buttery sweetness it the taste. Soft caramel, some yeasty hints and the whole thing ends really drymouthing. Drinkable, but to be completely honest, a bit boring. 14.10.2013 thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 13, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. Red copper, clear. Toffee citrus nose with decent bitterness. Quite nice. larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 5, 2013
Small beige head. Clear reddish brown body. Earthy mouldy compost (?!?) aroma with fruity notes. Dry-sweet smoky earthy rye crisp bread taste with dark chocolate notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish fruity perfumy earth aftertaste with peachy wooden cinnamon notes. Interesting, but most of all weird. On tap at Crowbar. Deep amber with a minimal off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, grapefruit and hints of herbs, dried fruits other fruits. Hoppy Vienna style with caramel and hops fighting for domination. Sweet, but quite balanced. Finishes with a citrusy bitterness. Nice and easy to drink. Appearance: Light hazy and deep amber color with a finger thick white head. Nice lacing.
Aroma: A bit sweet malty and fruity with some parfumed hoppy notes.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Malty, hoppy, light spicy and a fine fruity background.
Overall impression: Hops can even fix a boring Vienna style lager.
Personal stats: On tap @ source
This is far more hoppy than the average vienna lager. It doesn’t really seem like this style at ale, but it would be a nice thick, hoppy amber ale too. KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2013
Deep red, no head to speak of. More Vienna than India, though there is a spicy edge to this. Well crafted. Red berries, dry tail that keeps growing. Moreish.
