COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(American Style IPA) - This deep gold colored brew has a strong citrus-like flowery hop aroma. The intense hop bitterness and flavor is backed by medium maltiness and body. Our IPA is hopped seven times during the boil with Summit, Centenial, lots of Cascade hops and dry-hopped (adding hops directly to the beer post-fermentation) for additional character. Special Force Ale is left unfiltered to lock all the hop freshness.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but was purchased recently. Pours slightly hazy reddish orange color with a nice 1-2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, grapefruit, orange zest, mango, pineapple, toast, bread, slight pine, floral, grass, and light herbal spiciness. Nice and pleasant aromas with a good balance of malt/hop aromas. Taste of caramel, grapefruit, orange, pine, bread, light mango, pineapple, floral, grass, bread, toast, and herbal spiciness. Fair amount of herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, citrus, pine, grass, floral, tropical fruits, toast, bread, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a bit. Good complexity of hop flavors and very balanced between bitterness/sweetness; with almost zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with nearly zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice IPA. Some nice hop flavor complexity with a very balanced malt backbone; and very smooth to drink. I enjoyed this quite a bit.

Draught from the brewery. Pours a clear golden amber with a creamy off-white head that leaves rings of lacing on the glass. Fragrant floral, citric hops with a clean sweetswess to it. Full flavored, bold citrus hop flavor and a nice rich bitter finish that is not harsh, but fills the mouth. Creamy, full feel in the mouth. Quite good.

Thanks to Adam up at Blue Coop. Glowing amber pour with a bubbly white head. Resinous, citrus and pine aroma with caramel malt background. Bitter hop profile throughout with resinous pine and citrus, caramel malts lingering. Medium bodied and pretty tasty.

Backlog rating year 2010 (Draft) This beer pours a small ivory head, transparent body, no visible carbonation, no lacing, and an orange hue. This beer’s Aroma is citrus, pine hops and malty. The Taste is citrus, pine hops, grapefruit, malty, and mildly bitter. The Palate is smooth and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, this beer is quaffable, has a nice hops presence, is worth trying, and it is a beer I would drink again even though I am not considered to be a hoppy beer drinker.

Had this on tap at the Mad Anthony in Angola. Great amber color, poured with nice thick head. Over all a great beer. ...well balanced taste, but a bit of a odd bitters at the end.
