Bottle @ Marlow’s tavern. This is a really lack luster dubble that I would go so far as to say is not even classified as the right style. Suttree (6385) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 10, 2013
Copperish red, big beige head. Smells like molasses, caramel, and brown sugar. Very head, overbearing palate. Tastes like boozy rum, molasses, raisin and prune. Not particularly enjoyable. chickenflea (351) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - AUG 6, 2013
Pours a semi-hazed auburn. Half finger off white head shows poor retention. Light lacing on the sides of the glass just fall back into the beer. Ripe sweet cherries and raisin really come out in the aroma which I found to be very pleasing. Some caramel malt, alcohol, yeast and biscuit are in there too. The flavor is heavy with prune juice and raisin. The cherry component is actually quite tart. A spicy bitterness presents itself, but it does not last. Very little Belgian yeast notes. Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is average. Texture is watery.
This beer is a good take on the style, although it tastes a little "young." It is tasty without being too heavy.

I probably shouldn’t be so hard on this beer, but I’m a bit touchy when it comes to Belgian doubles and this beer doesn’t really touch the best and brightest. Mild in comparison, has spice but isn’t spicy. Balanced as far as it goes. hfmejias (1283) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - JUN 16, 2013
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours Dark amber, clear, medium beige head. Aroma is not too strong, mostly caramel and fruits. Taste is sweet and fruity some earthiness to it; the beer is very well balanced alcohol is well hidden. Nice beer, enjoyable.

Weak aroma, nice color. There is a sweetness which just makes the flavor enjoyable, but not by much. Watery. nearbeer (5413) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 26, 2013
12 oz. Clear darkish copper with a quarter inch of lasting foam. Mild nose of scorched brown sugar, dark fruit and cola. Flavor steps it up some with toffee, plum, and dark cherry. Delicate balance finishes barely dry with some light roast, citrus, molasses and a touch of woody hops. Medium body has light-medium carbonation and a nice balance. Nothing real complex, but a tasty and somewhat unique dubbel. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottle. Dark copper color. Sweet malty taste with moderate aroma. heavy and full body. Overall okay. GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Dark ruby pour. Lots of malt flavors, caramel and some dark fruit. I get a kind of dark ale--almost Scottish--without any real abbey character to it. Drinkable. EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - MAY 12, 2013
This beer’s aroma was reminiscent of toasted malts, allspice, and a hint of smoke, and the color was a clear copper color with an off-white head that faded to a ring and thin layer on top of the liquid. The taste was quite sour, a touch sweet, and slightly bitter, and the palate combines a medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, and an abrupt finish.
