Very drinkable, I quite enjoyed this one. Not much aroma, but I was pleased with the taste. Received a few bottles as a gift. monk191 (1978) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 16, 2013
A very good dubbel. Pours a fantastic amber red with a thick tan head. Not too much smell, a little bit of berries. Taste is great, quite malty, with banana and vanilla, and some plum. Refreshing finish. Very good!

Pours amber with a medium tan head. Aroma is dark fruit, pear and earthy/woody. Taste.is sweet with a little tartness. Medium bodied. Decent jwillyburns (13) - - APR 14, 2013
From beer of the month club. Tastes pretty good but nothing great or too unique. Kind of like a smoother fat tire?

Not a bad ale out of this brewery. Very strong and tasty. Pours a nice golden yellow. Would not get again.

Big and bold. Nice head the lasts through the beer in a proper glass.
Rich flavor with a good hoppy finish.

BOTM Club bottle. Dark iced tea color, not a lot of aromas here. Somewhat astringent taste, not overly objectionable but could be smoother. A thin-bodied Belgian attempt. Least favorite bottle in this month’s shipment. Steverus0 (263) - Shreveport, Louisiana, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Weird for a dubbel, this brew is overly bitter but full of depth and character. The plum and raisin come through clean and leave a clean feeling on the palate.

Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.; from weekend notes). Looks solid; a fairly transparent copper with light-beige head that dissipates into lacing. Smells of some caramel malt, toffee, a bit of dark fruit, and Belgian yeast. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. An okay (albeit unadventurous) no-frills example of the style. jzzbassman (1633) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Bottle. Poured a pretty amber and a nice head. My wife said it reminded her of Raison d’Etre, and with the dark plum and raisin I can see why. A bit "small" withe everything seeming muted, but I can appreciate that it wasn’t yet another over alcohol’d sweet Dubbel. The toffee and dark fruit combo is a good one.
