Crown Valley Farmhouse Lager has a thick, spongy, white head, a hazy, yellow-golden, bubbly appearance, and essentially no lacing left behind. The aroma is very bread oriented and sweet, and the flavor is of sweetness, biscuit, grits, and bread dough. Mouthfeel is medium and doughy, and Crown Valley Farmhouse Lager finishes refreshing, semi-dry, and extremely drinkable. Overall, this is one to enjoy, and I advise picking it up. Aroma is a mix of bready malts and pilsner-like hops. The flavor is mildly sweet malts, a hint of fruit and a smooth finish. blipp (9374) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Grainy malts, husky almost, with some light toasted bready notes and low bitterness. Quite good. Strykzone (7430) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Sampled at Herotage Fest. Too much foam. Clear golden. Aroma is sweeter with a malty and earthy profile. Gentle fruot with just a bit of earth. A nice eady to drink beer. Soft fruit. This is almost a summer lager. Nice. vyvvy (6521) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUN 27, 2014
Pours clear golden with a small white head. The aroma has smooth nuttiness, clean light toast, just a hint of hops and some bread. It has a medium body with mild sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with smooth lager malt, mild caramel and spicy hops. The finish is lightly grassy. Nice and simple lager.

Pours a clear golden color with a small head. Aroma of mild malt sweetness and grass. Taste of light fruit, bit of malt sweetness and trace of grain. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Light body, smooth and clean feel with a nice touch of light fruit. Enjoyable beer that goes down easy on a summer day. EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - JUN 16, 2013
The appearance looks like a standard lager with its clear golden color and minimal white head, and the aroma smells strongly of sweet dough yeast and slightly of bread malts. The taste is mildly sour and a touch sweet, which balances out quite nicely, and the palate combines a sour finish, thin texture, medium body, and an average carbonation. gregwilsonstl (2529) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 12, 2014
Really light bodied. Smooth. Somewhat sweet. Malt is the focus here. All around nice beer. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Clear golden color with off white head. Black pepper, dusty pale malt, dry spice aromas. light body, average carbonation. Decent semi-dry pale malt flavors with some lightly sweet berry fruits--crisp finish--not bad. seymour (2057) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - JUN 17, 2013
Tasted at the St. Louis Brewers Guild Heritage Fest 2013 in a sampler glass. It poured a crystal-clear yellow colour with white foam, lasting with some lace. Classic, true-to-style lager characteristics: mostly neutral but faint notes of crisp grains, freshly cut grass, noble hops, mellow and well-balanced bittersweet flavors. Good stuff. I usually only taste their stuff at local beer fests, but I’ve noticed they keep quietly producing great "sleeper tracks." I know they’re best known as a winery, but I’m starting to think Crown Valley is an underrated brewery.
