Pours very dark amber/brown with low medium head. Aroma is of fruits. Taste is of some acidity, sugar, weird malts, fruits. Palate: Medium body, soft carbonation. Overall: Not that convincing.
Sample @ EBF. Errl (2577) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 31, 2015
Appearance: Dark amber with a small bubbly off-white head and little to no lacing.
Aroma: Cherries, oak, bourbon, caramel, cough syrup and mild spiciness.
Taste: Caramel, mild spiciness, moderate fruitiness (cherries, raisins), moderately acidic, vinegar and a bit or rubber.
Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Lingering caramel finish. Rubber notes.
Overall: Lack of balance and direction; I don’t understand what kind of beer the brewer was trying to achieve here (other than a weird attemps at a sour brown). It’s definitely flavorful, but I wouldn’t say tasty and certainly not easily drinkable.
