Cloudy dark brown color. Nice aroma of dark fruits, acid. Smooth mouthfeel, strong body, highly carbonated, some light caramel, light residual sweetness, sour, vinous, dark fruits.
On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe for Big Wood 2014, pours a hazy dark orangey amber with a small beige head. Aroma is unusual, with notes of whiskey, vomit, and sour fruits. Flavour is sweet and sour, with notes of tart fruits, brown sugar and toffee. A little weird, but very nicely balanced. Sweeter than most Oud Bruins, but very nice. Enjoyable stuff. This has bright tartness, light fruit, a lot of wood. Quite lactic, just a touch of acetic. Ok brew, I’d like the fruit to stand out more. jtclockwork (17473) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 7, 2014
Bottle at WWBA. Pours brown with off white head. Nose/taste of cinnamon, vinegar, brown sugar, acid, cranberry, sour fig and dates. Medium body. Ferris (16765) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
Draft - Tart cherry and light balsamic. Deep copper with a decent beige head. Rich and chemical rich. Ann odd sweet cherry and funky bitterness. Odd but not good.

Bottle @ home. Cola colored beer with a fizzy layer of tan foam. Smells like sour red fruits such as cherry, grape, and berry. Certainly acetic but also somewhat sweet and sugary. Lots of caramel, charred wood, and Dr. Pepper. The flavor is a little bit hot, actually. Some sourness of vinegar and fruits, but more caramel, toffee, and vanilla than expected. A hint of coffee and some green apple. Light citrus oil. bhensonb (15871) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 30, 2015
Bottle shared by Ken at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours brown, no head, orange glints. Aroma is mildly sour with fruit/cherry notes. Med body or better. Flavor is slightly sour red berry, arguably cherry, with an odd touch of chocolate - like often found in US browns, but not so much in Flemish ales. Finishes towards sour, not very dry, not very bitter, and I think a bit maltier than usual for the style. Nice ale! djd07 (15704) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 3, 2014
Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a cloudy amber with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong oak, funk, figs, raisin. Medium mouthfeel with dark fruits, raisin, and oak with light dryness. Good. Tmoney99 (15044) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 21, 2015
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy dark fruit and sour yeast aroma. Medium to full body and a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & dark tart fruit flavor with a medium to heavy dark fruit & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex solid beer. BeerandBlues2 (13872) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 17, 2015
