COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hops climb up twine that’s just loosely tied to the trellis with a half hitch knot— and this Imperial IPA is just loosely tied to tradition. The Mosaic hop imparts surprisingly floral aromas instead of the more expected grapefruit-y notes. On the palate, complex layers of flavors might remind you of guava, mango, stone fruit and lemon, unraveling your idea of what an Imperial IPA should be.

Draft at the brewpub. Gold in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of melon, guava, clean pale malt and booze. Quite the Mosaic and pale malt assault on the palate with loads of citric, tropical, and grass flavors along with some sticky pale malt for balance. Could be leaner, but still pretty tasty.

500ml. Big juicy aroma of tangerine, mango, other citrus. Taste the orange, wheat, mandarin, splash of spices and lemon zest. Very good stuff, a new favorite.

beer-yum (1759) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 16, 2016
Huge citrus aroma in a golden pour. Laid back balance with a big malty body perfectly matched by what bitterness there is. A spectacular brew given the strength (of which there is no hint at all).

Crux Half hitch 10% bottle shared by Mike

A deep brassy orange gold. A big bold juicy passionfruit and prickly pear aroma. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel and a lush fruity hop flavor that perfectly matches the aroma. This was really nice

Bottle. Peaches, onions, oranges, mango in the nose. Great display of Mosaic. Bright golden orange color. Sweet, slightly syrupy, but nose citrus, nectarine, dank tropical fruits. Unique and fun.

Bottle from store poured into shaker pint glass. Aroma is tropical fruit with subtle hop aroma. Pale straw color with moderate head. Slightly malty mouth feel with a bitter undertaste. A drinkable beer, but nothing exceptional.
