COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison, French for season, was traditionally brewed during the harvest season for Belgian Farm workers. With the harvest season upon us, we bring to the table our Saison, teasing with hints of citrus and spices. Hops and malt are well-balanced and layered with just a touch of sourness.

Clear bright golden with a white head that recedes to a wee cap. Big Belgian pale malt nose with some pear, light tropical nuances, apple juice, light guava and a light Belgian funk. The flavor has a bit of bubblegum throughout, but has a lot of the fruity waters from the nose, a little booze, and loads of Belgian pale malt grainy chewiness. Loads of Belgian pale malt.

Bottle from The Tin Bucket. Fresh floral and yeasty nose, light stone fruit. Hazy light blond, constant dense head, fast and furious carbonation rising. Sweet fruity initial, peach pit bitterness, tangy mid plate, sweet again in final. Thin-medium body. Nice nose, a bit yeasty. But somewhat too sweet in finish.

Bottle. Golden body with a frothy, white head rapidly diminishing. Aroma of clove, banana, spice, cotton candy, toasted grain, light earthiness, herbs. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Banana-clove taste with a sweet candy finish. Light tartness. Too sweet and too much banana for my tastes.

3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 3, 2015
Bottle dated May 2015. Clear pale gold with a thin white head and no retention. Aroma is yeasty and grainy and fruity with notes of pear cider, artificial lemon, ginger, grain husks, vegetables, mineral water, and phenolic in the way of tire rubber and matchstick / phosphorus. Medium-light body, syrupy and sweet, lightly acidic and gripping in the mouth, but the carbonation is flabby and the whole effect is watery and limp. Simple honey and simple syrup maltiness and vegetal hoppiness and silty yeast. #sloppy

500ml bottle. Spicy Belgian yeast aroma with notes of lemony citrus and a little bit of farm house funk. Pours cloudy, pale golden colored with a thin, effervescent white head with poor retention and very little lacing. Starts with lemony citrus as well as some spicy notes. Finishes with a lot of spicy Belgian yeast character as well as a slight hint of farmhouse funk that lingers on the the palate. Nice saison.

Pours a finger of head on a hazy straw body. The aroma is bright lemon, flowers and spice. The taste is mild spice, lemon bitter and water. The texture is light, soft and airy. Good.

500ml bottle - lightly hazy gold - fairly lively - nose is moderate tropical esters, light muskiness, light peppery phenolics and minerals - flavor is a bit sweet, lacking the same yeast expression that the aroma suggests - tropical notes compliment the sweetness okay, I guess - slight tartness balances as bit - as it warms, there is a nicely complex phenolic profile that develops on the tail end, but overall it’s still a little too sweet, and a little limp in the mouth - a decent attempt - I would try a later batch to see if they improved their approach.

Bottle served in a tulip. Pours slightly hazy with a short head. Nose has bubblegum, citrus, and yeast spiciness that develops as it warms. Lemon citrus flavor. Light sweet and a little tart. Light-med body, mild carbonation and slightly tart finish. Was hoping for better.

Decent saison but packaging is better than the beer itself. Pretty thick body for a saison, and a little too sweet
