COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Many breweries procure their hops right here in the Northwest. But this beer features the Galaxy hop from Australia, a country famously populated by Englands cast out convicts. Cast Out IPA employs these hops aggressively from hop back to dry hopping stages. Yet the result is a balanced and bronzy ale, with medium hop bitterness complemented by moderate maltiness, showcasing aromas and flavors reminiscent of passion fruit.

MNAle (132) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 29, 2016
2 month old 12 oz bottle. Hazy orange-straw color, strong carbonation visible. White 1/2 inch bubbly head, leaving thick lacing. Aroma is citrus, but not too strong, some floral. Initial taste is floral. Perhaps some fruit. Plenty of malt holding up the mouth feel. Transitions to a mildly bitter finish. Lingering bitter and citrus presence in the mouth. Enjoyable, a very good west coast IPA.

Pours a cloudy straw with a small off white head and very good lacing. Smell is of citrus, hops, caramel, and wood. Taste is bitter, citrus, some malt in back, a little pine, and dandelion. Ends crisp and bitter.

Maybe its the hops from halfway around the world, or maybe it wasnt the freshest bottle of beer...but the danky aroma just didnt do it for me. Okay tasting, with a long bitter finish.

Tropical fruit aroma in a golden amber pour. Hop forward balance with a fruity body and big bitter finish. An interesting change (aroma) from the usual US DIPA.

Cast out ipa crux thanks for sharing Mike

A bright light gold with a dank toe jam jammy passionfruit aroma. Light bodied and very dry with a big dank fruit flavor. A month old from the states so quite fresh. I didnt like it quite as much as Half-Hitch but this is a damn fine beer.

Bottle. Funk ass nose, some celery, lots of grapefruit, dank ass Galaxy hops. Glowing orange-gold with lace. Stanky, dank grapefruit and pine flavor. Really wild use of Galaxy. Dig it.

Poured from 500ml into Teku glass. Hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Nose is a bit funky, mild malty and over ripe citrus. Nice balanced taste. Medium bodied with a nice long finish.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Paint thinner and orange dominate the nose. Sour and baby sick on the palate, another improperly imported Oregon beer to Japan...why am I not surprised. Extremely astringent finish with more paint thinner and chemicals. Drain pour.
