COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Many breweries procure their hops right here in the Northwest. But this beer features the Galaxy hop from Australia, a country famously populated by Englandís cast out convicts. Cast Out IPA employs these hops aggressively from hop back to dry hopping stages. Yet the result is a balanced and bronzy ale, with medium hop bitterness complemented by moderate maltiness, showcasing aromas and flavors reminiscent of passion fruit.

From a 12 oz. can. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Flavors of mangos and kiwi. Delicious.

Way too fizzy for me. Itís a shame, because itís not bad otherwise. Slightly cloudy, golden yellow colour. Bitter-ish but not too hoppy.

MNAle (184) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 29, 2016
2 month old 12 oz bottle. Hazy orange-straw color, strong carbonation visible. White 1/2 inch bubbly head, leaving thick lacing. Aroma is citrus, but not too strong, some floral. Initial taste is floral. Perhaps some fruit. Plenty of malt holding up the mouth feel. Transitions to a mildly bitter finish. Lingering bitter and citrus presence in the mouth. Enjoyable, a very good west coast IPA.

Portland, Or - Beaumont Market - 12 oz bottle. Hazy, medium orange pour, off white head, light lacing. Solid spruce aroma. Bitter citrus essence, grapefruit, strong. Solid, but one dimensional. Thick richly textured mouthfeel.

Pours a cloudy straw with a small off white head and very good lacing. Smell is of citrus, hops, caramel, and wood. Taste is bitter, citrus, some malt in back, a little pine, and dandelion. Ends crisp and bitter.

Maybe itís the hops from halfway around the world, or maybe it wasnít the freshest bottle of beer...but the danky aroma just didnít do it for me. Okay tasting, with a long bitter finish.

beer-yum (1656) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 24, 2016
Tropical fruit aroma in a golden amber pour. Hop forward balance with a fruity body and big bitter finish. An interesting change (aroma) from the usual US DIPA.

Cast out ipa crux thanks for sharing Mike

A bright light gold with a dank toe jam jammy passionfruit aroma. Light bodied and very dry with a big dank fruit flavor. A month old from the states so quite fresh. I didnít like it quite as much as Half-Hitch but this is a damn fine beer.

Bottle. Funk ass nose, some celery, lots of grapefruit, dank ass Galaxy hops. Glowing orange-gold with lace. Stanky, dank grapefruit and pine flavor. Really wild use of Galaxy. Dig it.
