Many breweries procure their hops right here in the Northwest. But this beer features the Galaxy hop from Australia, a country famously populated by Englands cast out convicts. Cast Out IPA employs these hops aggressively from hop back to dry hopping stages. Yet the result is a balanced and bronzy ale, with medium hop bitterness complemented by moderate maltiness, showcasing aromas and flavors reminiscent of passion fruit.

Appearance: white froth like a dog foaming at the mouth. Orange copper color underneath. Aroma is fruity rind of honeydew. They say it is passion fruit. (I like passion fruit and once ordered a case for the holidays.) Hoppy with a bite balanced by malt foaminess in the mouthfeel.

42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to our host. Almost clear yellow - gold beer, residual white head. Palate is smooth, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light malts, a little creamy sweetness. Hops bring touches of pine and hop spice, citric peel and a trace of lemon. A weird bitter note emerges before the lemony citric finish. Decent despite the brief skewed bitterness.

50cl bottle shared at the early April CW tasting, London. Many thanks to Fergus. It pours a clean golden color with a medium white head. Not lasting long this foam. Aroma is tangy danky hops with grass citrus peel and tangerine. Taste has also dry crispy tangy notes of grass citrus peel tangerine and quite a decent presence of dank weed notes. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, very nice

Hazy yellow orange in color... Aroma of citrus, honey... Flavor is citrusy hops, burnt malts, light toffee notes... Bitter grainy hops on finish... Kinda homebrewy... Decent but not my favorite ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared on the 42nd floor - thanks to Fergus. Pours clear gold with a dense, frothy white head. Great aroma, lots of vibrant citrus, melon, tangerine, papaya. 12 oz bottle. Aroma is doughy, peachy, tropical fruit, minerally. Pours bright golden with a medium white head that leaves a little lace. Medium level bitterness with a nice tropical peachy hop profile. Alcohol is damn near completely hidden for an ABV approaching Imperial territory. A little thin maybe. Good stuff, though.
