On draft at the Stone Bistro.
Mahogany color, off white head, a good looking pour with a nice, light malty aroma. The flavor is a balance between malt and dried fruits. Dangeriously quaffable, this one is. bb (9900) - Alamo, California, USA - FEB 20, 2007
Draft. Amber beer with a nice off-white head. Lighter grapefruit/earthy malt aroma. Great balanced flavor with malt/caramel, spice, raisin, and citrus bitterness with slight roast. Lingering caramel and citrus. Fuller bodied. Nice. Slight chocolate tones. fordest (2469) - Santee/San Diego, California, USA - FEB 10, 2007
Draft at O’Brien’s. Very sweet aromas off this medium brown pour with barely any head. Banana and dark fruit. Flavors were similar with some caramel and vanilla. Nice hoppy finish too. Not bad. By far the best Mexican beer I have ever had. WeeHeavySD (3399) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 4, 2007
On Draft at O’Briens. Served in a pint glass and yes it took me a while to drink. Poured reddish brown witha small head. The nose had some sweet dried fruit in it. The taste was bitter and sweet, with hints of dried fruit. Honestly I thought this was only decent, it wasn’t bad nor was it amazing. Naven (1001) - Poway, California, USA - JAN 5, 2007
A barley wine from Mexico?? And it’s good? Believe it, it’s true. Totally nailed the style, as the aroma, appearance flavor and palate are all spot on. I expect great things from this brewery.

Tap @ Liar’s Club. Wasn’t expecting much, but I was very suprised w/ this one. An excellent beer. Reminds me of Old Numbskull. Search out this beer. alafito (334) - tijuana, MEXICO - OCT 27, 2006
On tap at the TjBeer Fest. Honey copper pour with a small but retaining head. This is officialy my favorite mexican beer... too bad its not for mass market yet. Roberto Gonzalez (Cucapa brewmaster) told me it had won medals at the Beer championships and without any reserch i believe him. The aroma is of flowery hops and sweet malts with a slight twinge of caramel. The flavor is more like a very malty dopplebock with a nice warming without alcohol or ether taste. Now the palate is what i think got this beer its medals... silky, smooth, velvety, with soft carbonation and a full body. Very high marks... i hope they bottle this soon.
