The flavor is very sweet with over ripe fruits, alcohol, that burns the tongue, caramel, and some malt, leading to an alcoholic burning finish. joergen (29397) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 23, 2009

Bottle 75 cl. Slightly hazy deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and overripe fruit - vague whiff of smoke also. Solid body, caramel and overripe fruits with a fairly solid bitterness. 220909 fiulijn (21470) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 22, 2009
Hazy dark amber color; small creamy head. A lot of caramel, with medium sweetness; it’s somewhere between a strong Amber Ale, a Doppelbock and a Strong American Ale; alcoholic; powerful but without directions. Pleasant but confusing. brokensail (16678) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 30, 2012
Pours a copper color with a small tan head. Sweet and fruity on the nose with plenty of caramel, sugar, and toffee. A light toastiness, some floral hops, and a hint of alcohol. The flavor has a mild bitterness, alcohol, and lots of malt notes. Some toasted bread, caramel, and toffee notes. A light fruitiness to the beer, which I find enjoyable. Not bad, but not my favorite either. bhensonb (15858) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 4, 2009
Bottle from South Bay Drug. Pours a brilliant reddish orange copper color - like a jewel. The beige/tan head started respectable, but went while I typed this. Big aromas of malt and fruit. All mixed together. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Rather fluffy. There’s some heat up front. It starts a bit sweet, then goes astringent. Light smoke. Touch of treacle. Not a lot of hop in the finish. Surely fits the style though. A good sipper. Ratman197 (15474) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - DEC 7, 2009
750 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of smoke, toffee, raisin and plum. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, toffee, raisin, plum and light smoke with a smooth dry malty finish.
