On tap at PP C-Bad.Pretty deep amber red with next to no head. Aroma of sweet malt . Very slippery on the palate with a little spice and hop along with the sugary malt. Not a lot of bitterness. Very nice to drink with a good finish. Bueno senor! Gypsy19 (726) - California, USA - DEC 5, 2009
750ml, $9.49, from the Davis Co-Op. Pours a deep ruby amber with a medium-sized yellow-tan head. Looks absolutely stunning, perfect for the style, even better than my beloved Old Stock dare I say. Aroma is pretty straightforward; dark malts, honey, brown sugar, unprocessed barley. Pleasant aroma, simply. Ooh, a definte malt bomb flavor-wise, slightly sweet, good hop counterpoint which waited until the last minute to present itself. Pretty smoky flavor too (only slightly meaty is the smokiness), grassy finish. Alcohol is present but relatively subtle. Gooey body, sticky finish no less. Easily the best Mexican beer I or anyone else have ever had. Which isn’t saying much, of course, but it’s really nice to see a decent beer coming from Mexico at this point in history nevertheless. A very nice example of the style. Overall, very good to excellent. jarspag (601) - San Francisco, California, USA - APR 15, 2009

Cloudy orange brown color with little to no head. Big malty aroma with some oak, caramel and port. Rich and sweet malty flavor with toffee, molasses and dark fruits. Could have used some more carbonation. Felicidades to this Mexican brewery for creating a bar that’s up there with its neighbor’s in terms of a tasty and solid barleywine. Had from 750 ml bottle from Hi Time Wines. Pours ruby brown with no head and very slight carbonation. Lacing is good. Aromas of sugar, fruits, raisin, toffee, malts, and caramel. Taste is similar, very sweet, overpowering sugars and fruits. Heavy alcohol flavor with lots of malts and toffee. Finishes sweet. Not my favorite style, but I have had better barley wines. An ambitious beer from Mexico though.

Pours with an amber hue with no head.
Aroma is of dark fruits. Flavor has a somewhat dry beginning and then transitions into a very sweet ending.
Syrupy mouthfeel with lively carbonation. alafito (334) - tijuana, MEXICO - OCT 27, 2006
On tap at the TjBeer Fest. Honey copper pour with a small but retaining head. This is officialy my favorite mexican beer... too bad its not for mass market yet. Roberto Gonzalez (Cucapa brewmaster) told me it had won medals at the Beer championships and without any reserch i believe him. The aroma is of flowery hops and sweet malts with a slight twinge of caramel. The flavor is more like a very malty dopplebock with a nice warming without alcohol or ether taste. Now the palate is what i think got this beer its medals... silky, smooth, velvety, with soft carbonation and a full body. Very high marks... i hope they bottle this soon. Medium reddish brown pour. Aromas of caramel malt and meyer lemon. Flavor has sweet malt, subtle floral hops, and candied lemon. It is a bit thin on the palate, and could be more refined overall. Not a bad offering. 184601 (206) - Mexicali, MEXICO - AUG 22, 2007
