Shared. Aroma of toasted malts and dark fruits. Taste of dark fruit, caramel, and some booze. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 4, 2007
On Draft at O’Briens. Served in a pint glass and yes it took me a while to drink. Poured reddish brown witha small head. The nose had some sweet dried fruit in it. The taste was bitter and sweet, with hints of dried fruit. Honestly I thought this was only decent, it wasn’t bad nor was it amazing. hapjydeuce (1001) - Carlsbad, California, USA - MAY 30, 2007
On tap at Liar’s Club, dark mohogany color with no head, but lots of carbonation. Sweet aroma of molasses and dark malts. Flavor was nothing spectacular, a pretty standard barleywine with some caramel and good hop bite. Palate was weak, no lingering and not that chewy. Enjoyable, but I prefer Stone Old Guardian or a Behemoth to this. JorisPPattyn (10001) - Ursel, BELGIUM - APR 22, 2008
Draught. Marks for Appearance are an average, as beer was sampled in weak artificial light after dark. Fusels, raisins, ethanol, candi sugar ans some mushrooms aroma. Sweet taste, bread, and unidimensional, compared to the nose - more’s the pity. Well bodied, lots of alcohol and -burning, dangerously slick (in going down). Surprising beer for MX. And NOT bad. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - SEP 13, 2008
Reddish brown pour with a big tan head. Aroma is very malty and sweet with toffee and lots of ripe fruit. Similar flavors, very sweet, almost cloying with bit of booze and a floral finish.

Big Bottle. Sweet molasas, some carmalized malted candy and roasted grains.. Dark red body with thin head. Sweet caramel and barley grain malt flavor at first. Then sugary sweet mild citrus with some cohoclate and more barley and caramel. Filling brew good night cap. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - FEB 3, 2009
Thanks to Notalush for sharing at his last tasting. Moslty clear amber with a thin lasting head. Aroma is orange zest, citrus and fruity esters sweetish crystal malts. Flavor has some slight phenolic yeastiness, light plastic with an herbal turing earthy character and even some dirty weediness with the citrus like hops. Ok sweetness throughout and a moderately smooth finish. Ok BW. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 6, 2009
Shared by Notalush. Lots of cereal grains, caramel in the aroma, pretty sweet. Similar flavor with a fairly rough body, tough carbonation. A bit too sweet for the most part. Odeed (1803) - Bakersfield, California, USA - MAR 6, 2009
