Aroma is rich malts, toffee, caramel, Belgian sugar. Taste is rich sweet malts with slight yeast and candy sugar. Light liquor burn but really not that bad. Quite nice. Appearance is a slightly hazy amber body with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well. Percy0103 (767) - MEXICO - OCT 29, 2014
Bottle, 355ml. A cloudy brownish beer with a minimal white head. Aroma is of grapes, dried fruits, caramel and alcohol. There is also an acidic note that becomes noticeable after a couple of minutes. Taste is a combination of bitterness and sweetness, but at the end the sweetness prevails. It has a smooth character with medium carbonation and astringency. Slightly alcoholic finish.

It lacks the kick of a barley wine really. Just to sweet. Plus the traditional spicy malty elements of barely don’t really appear until the last few sips. So, palate is poor. Decent thick brown looks with small, tan head. Slight aroma of woods, berryrs and malts. DuffMan (10429) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 2, 2013
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Davey. Dark amber with golden highlights and a medium light gold head. Sweet and brandy-ish through and through, all the way to the boozy finish. The body delivered fruity toffee and dry woody notes before alcoholic warmth burned them away. Missing complexity and malt structure-- their Centenario is a much better barley wine. mcberko (17829) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 27, 2013
22 oz. bottle, pours an orange amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of toffee, alcohol, caramel malts, and dark fruits - quite a bit of heat. Flavour is similar, with buttery caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar, and booze. This is a lot better than the average rating suggests. Not that complex, but still pleasant enough, despite a decently harsh booziness. Decent.

22 oz bottle: color is a nice ruby, garnet color. Thin head that fades very quickly. Aroma seems to be fairly oxidized, almost sherry like. Some hints of sweet, candied fruit and alcohol. Taste is pretty much the same. Overly sweet, unbalanced and noticeable, harsh alcohol with oxidization. This is my first beer by this brewery and i am not a fan. patricks110 (2495) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 8, 2013
A boozy mess thatbisnt really a barleywine. Pours a dark murky ruby colour with a thin dead head. yhe nose is fruity with brown sugar and dried prunes and raisins. Mild flavour with a bit of fruitiness and mild toffee fruits. Boozy and boozy finish! Chudwick (3207) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - SEP 5, 2013
bomber - pours ruby amber with light tan head. Nose is booze, dark fruit, brown sugar, and more dark fruit. Flavor adds caramel and nuts. Really harsh, wow. Dry from the booze. Pretty sure that this beer will NOT change my life. I wish I could find a date on the bottle, because the nuttiness makes me think this is really old. Metallic aftertaste. Very sweet! Dark Red when held up to a light but looks pitch black normally. Pretty strong caramelized malts and mild hops in the nose with plum, grape and fruity notes. Flavor is caramelized malts, mild hops, booziness, slight spice and plums. Maltiness also feels very artificial, almost like syrup. Body is light and carbonation moderate. I never had a bad barleywine until now, avoid this at all costs! fonefan (49293) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUN 20, 2013
Unclear matt medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, vintage - oxidide, sweet malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, alcohol, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
