Cask (gravity) @ 28th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2011, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England
Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, butterscotch, vomit. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, woody. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.
Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival (Day 2) on 7 December 2011. Dark amber colour. Not much head or condition. Rather clammy malty aroma. Soft on the palate although there is a touch of late spicy bitterness. Mouthfeel is a little soapy. Nothing too interesting here. Didn’t even realize it was supposed to be a bock-style beer and it certainly didn’t come across much like one, not to mention being rather low in ABV for that.

Ear Beer Fest 2011. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is buttery, mild nuttyness as well as some slight sweetness. Flavour is nutty, bitter hops, some caramel and crystal malts as well. Also some mild notes of alcohol (so is it really 4.5%, as the Pigs Ear Fest program said? Not sure it’s a real bock either...)
