22 oz. bottle from Lifesource natural Grocers in Salem OR.
( note: says 9.5% alc and 65 ibu)
Pours a very dark brown think coca cola, with a gorgeous frothy and thick tan head.
Strong toasty ,nutty malt aromas and follwed by herbal/dankness from the hops.
Taste is lighter and fruitier in the hopping than the nose..but the deep maltiness shows up near the end.
Very nice mouth feel for the strength..and the alcohol is barely noticed unil the end of the last sip.
Nice strong beer. stevoj (6052) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 17, 2017
Bottle from Broken Top Bottle Shop. Black pour, no light escapes from within, thick tan head, sticks around for a while. Streaky lacing.Nice dark, roast malts in the aroma, some spice, some floral. Taste is super smooth, roast grains up front with some fruity sweetness near the back, finished by a small hops bite. One of the gentler black IPAs I’ve had, but its ease of drinking makes it a winner in my book. madmitch76 (27186) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2017

On tap at the Loyal Legion, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt and piney hops in good balance. Flavour is robust, with lots of roasted malt upfront, followed by a concatenation of hops. Wonderful mix of hops and roast. Excellent.
