Visited the Solana Beach home of the brewery on 28th May 2016 and had 12 x 3oz pours of their beers on tap: this was one of them. Small white head on my clear golden bodied beer. Delicate flavours and nose, like most Kolsch style beers, decent and refreshing without unsetting or testing any of your senses.

Draft. Pours clear gold with a white head. Clean pale malts, low bitterness, really quite mild throughout, and a nice clean finish. Solid.

Tap at Solana Beach location. Poured a clear golden yellow color with a small white head. aroma was sweet grassy notes. Flavor was light grassy character with a light earthy hop character.

Golden with a white head - Some malts in the aroma - Malt body with some yeasty flavours - Mlat and yeast goes into the finish - This was nice

My Bottom Line:
Soft cereals and herbal hops meet in this quenching example.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty blond.
-Herbal hops provide just enough bitterness to balance out the finish.
-Carbonation was quite bubbly, increasing drinkability.
-Body isn’t too sweet to hinder drinkability.

On tap at their Ocean Beach location.

On tap at Culture in Ocean Beach. It pours a hazy blonde color with a white head. The aroma is lightly earthy, floral and has some lemon and orange. The flavor is more lemon, orange and floral/earthy bitterness. Decent.

Keg at Culture, Solana Beach, 14/11/14. Lightly hazed golden topped with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is pale malt, straw, citric peel, light yeast, bready notes, caramel. Taste is a little on the raw side, lemon rind, vanilla, bread dough, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so.

On draft at the source. Well-balanced and very crisp and refreshing. I caught a twinge of lemon and loved it! A solid beer!

>> Helga hop version. Clear, light orange pour. Cleanest beer they make, no chlorine. Sweet juicy nose, strange Helga hops I guess, orange marmalade, lemon preserves, miso, mild vegetal. Taste is clean, dry, not papery, nice grain and orange peel balance. Very nice.

Tap at Culture. Pours a light gold with some white head. Aroma is sweet, grassy and floral. Taste is lacking distinction, some grassiness to it. Not impressed by this one.
