The second pint I chose was this interesting release. Hard to pin down, I could not figure out exactly what the style was. It seems like a black IPA but yet with darker undertones. Whatever you call it the result is fantastic.
Aroma / Appearance - A reddish black base and sandy white head hide the trace carbonation well. Raspberry truffles, chocolate (medium grade), and coffee balance the inviting hop profile well.
Flavor / Palate - Earthy hops ground a malt driven experience. Coffee and rich truffles brighten the palate before a light bitter finish adds the final touches. Gentle and easy to drink this is definitely a contender for one of my favorite Cumberland releases.
