On tap at the brewpub in Louisville, KY. Pours a murky, ugly brown colored body with a thin, frothy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a very light lacing. Aroma is bigger chipotle peppers with only a slight hint of heat in the nose. Bready malts with a light caramel sweetness and a touch of earthy smoke. Flavor is similar. Lots of chipotle pepper, a light bready caramel sweetness, a touch of fruit ester, and a slight smokiness from the malts and peppers towards the end. Finishes dry with lots of pepper and a light bitterness from some earthy hops. Just a slight pepper heat and a light malt sweetness to balance. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-thin body and a flatter carbonation. Overall, a decent flavored pepper amber, but a bit flat feeling and pretty ugly. I do enjoy the big pepper flavor with just the slightest hint of heat balanced with a bready caramel sweetness. Ok.
