This balanced but powerfully hoppy India Pale Ale is brewed using the finest pale ale malt and three complimentary hops. We use Goldings - the traditional, fresh, sweet, delicate king of English hops. Then we add Bramling Cross, a spicy blackcurranty beauty and finish with a touch of extremely clean fresh Citra hop, for quenching zestines. We think that in balancing these 3 exciting hops we have created a beer of great power yet drinkable harmony.

330ml from Brum Selfridges. Meek stone fruit, chip shop batter, aniseed nose. Old school IPA dullness bereft of contemporary hop references. Weak honeyed peach, autumnal apple and slate smeared with caramel flavours. Bronze capped finely with lacing off white. An anachronism. What a crushing disappointment.

Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Despite being labelled as triple hopped there is an amazing lack of hops. In fact there isn’t a lot of flavour full stop. A big let down.

Reddish copper pour with a fluffy white head. Grassy hop aroma. Taste is a nice bitterness.

A little gem. Just the kind of beer I go for these days. Hoppy and zingy. More please. 8/19.

BeerViking (4781) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 25, 2015
Bottle, red brown pour with a lightly citrus, marmalade and earthy-herbal aromas. Well balanced, with juicy malt and a firm dry herbal and fruity bitterness.

Tap at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is light malt light zesty citrus hop, The flavour is moderate bitter with a light crispy zesty citrus woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A nice refreshing beer but not really a classic IPA. Didn’t really get the Citra at all. I think the idea is to actually throw it into the mash rather than just holding it over the top!

A very easy drinking, sessionable IPA... Clean crisp, slight malt. Gorgeous. Not a great example of IPA, but a great example of a light hoppy beer.
