Salty and sweet aroma with some toffee.
Licorice and coffee, dill an oak. mt_hall (211) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 3, 2015
Bottled. Pours a very dark brown/black with a small light brown head that soon disappeared. Chocolate, coffee, and a touch of smoke on the nose. Smooth and dry in the mouth, with a slightly smoky flavour balanced by some tartness. Good, but would like a touch more body. ladnewton (2039) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 6, 2012
Bottle at Real Man Pizzeria, Clerkenwell, London on 6th January 2012. Dark ruby with thin off-white head. Fruity, spicy aroma, then very fruity and spicy in mouth with berry fruits and touches of chocolate. A citric but delicate tang on the tongue. Fresh fruit and roast malts in an aftertaste that’s both rewarding and refreshing with herby bitterness developing. Medium body and zingy mouthfeel. A good bottle. Apr 2012 - Nice porter - mildly smokey, dark chocolate taste. Not bad at all, and would consider another.

Pours well with a medium off-white head. chocolate, smokey oak and vanilla. Taste is smokey dare i say ash like, oaky with chocolaty tones and a dry after taste with some hops. Surprisingly this is is a really nice drink that gets better with every sip. johndoughty (5543) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2015
Bottle. 4.4 per cent rather than 5. Black with a small head. First flavour was chocolate followed by a gentle bitterness. Well rounded and easy to drink. Not a memorable one but still worth trying. MiP (15973) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 9, 2007
Bottle, 5.0%. Vinous pine needle aroma. Very dark brown colour, small light brown head. Quite flavourful, lots of vanilla and some sweetness. Very late coffee aftertaste. Vanilla in porter is good. berkshirejohn (6655) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2009
