330ml Bottle from The Bishop Langley, Durham, £3.50.
Very dark brown, near black beer with a small, bubbly, light tan coloured head. The aroma is fairly enticing with creamy caramel tones and dark, roasty malts prominent. There are pleasant, sweetish, dairy milk, chocolate and, interestingly, amaretto biscuit notes to the taste, but there are also less enjoyable sharp, metallic flavours in there as well as a fizz on the palate that reduces drinkability. Oaky, whisky flavours come into play later. There’s plenty to like about this beer but also plenty that’s more than a little jarring. I expected better. Maybe it would have been better not as heavily refrigerated as it was. mt_hall (201) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 3, 2015
Bottled. Pours a very dark brown/black with a small light brown head that soon disappeared. Chocolate, coffee, and a touch of smoke on the nose. Smooth and dry in the mouth, with a slightly smoky flavour balanced by some tartness. Good, but would like a touch more body. jamaty (2118) - Madrid, SPAIN - AUG 31, 2015
Negra, escasa espuma beige. Aroma a café tostado. En boca es ligera, pero de sabor muy rico, realmente tostada, con notas de chocolate y café. Superbebible es una porter estupenda.

Bottle. 4.4 per cent rather than 5. Black with a small head. First flavour was chocolate followed by a gentle bitterness. Well rounded and easy to drink. Not a memorable one but still worth trying.
