Driven by wanderlust and a desire for discovery, the Curious Traveler set out to explore the globe. Always fearlessly inquisitive, he relished opportunities to befriend other travelers and to experience cultures he had only previously imagined. He sampled their wares, their foods and most importantly their libations. Some were good. Some not so good. Others were downright dangerous. Many years into his travels, his pace slowed on a particularly sweltering day. He sought refuge in a small pub to escape the oppressive heat. Before he could even finish wiping his brow, the bartender handed him a glistening glass of ale. The Traveler took a liking to the invigorating lemon shandy concoction. Quite a refresher! he said gratefully. The Traveler has never stopped exploring in fact, hes on the road this very day. Somewhere. Only one thing has changed: he now makes sure he orders a shandy everywhere he goes.

This is quite lemony. Looks nice, but the flavor is a bit too sweet. A decent shandy for those that enjoy this style.

This pours a cloudy, golden yellow color with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is slightly sweet with lemons and wheat. The taste is sweet and full of lemons with wheat delivering a full beer flavor. Smooth and very easy drinking as well as a step up from Leines Summer Shandy.

Having tried virtually every beer I could get my hands on, I took some time away from beer to indulge in Jack Daniels. Coming back again to beer I found many a brew difficult to palate and few that I actually liked as I proceeded slowly through some new brews. I Received a Curious Traveler as part of a beer gift basket and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that this beer was very refreshing with a lemon zest flavor. The aroma barely hinted to the lemon inside. I probably would not buy this beer by the case but would not mind an occasional 6-pack in the fridge every once in awhile.

Ignore the beer snobs who give this beer a low rating. This is a good damn beer. Full of flavor, not overbearing. One of the few that go good with practically any meal, too.

Rating this relative to other Shandys. Nice citrus flavor but not the sugary, sticky after taste on the palate, which I am glad isnt present. For this reason, I prefer this beer over Shock Top Lemon Shandy.

Bottle. Nose is lemon; nice and pungent, without any candied overtone. Pours a relatively unremarkable flat brown-gold with very little head. On the tongue, its lemon, wheat, and a nice pithy bitterness; its more impressive as to what its not. Its not candied, its not saccharine, its not gross. Its refreshing and tasty. It wont solve the worlds problems, but its a good shandy.
