COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Driven by wanderlust and a desire for discovery, the Curious Traveler set out to explore the globe. Always fearlessly inquisitive, he relished opportunities to befriend other travelers and to experience cultures he had only previously imagined. He sampled their wares, their foods and most importantly their libations. Some were good. Some not so good. Others were downright dangerous. Many years into his travels, his pace slowed on a particularly sweltering day. He sought refuge in a small pub to escape the oppressive heat. Before he could even finish wiping his brow, the bartender handed him a glistening glass of ale. The Traveler took a liking to the invigorating lemon shandy concoction. Quite a refresher! he said gratefully. The Traveler has never stopped exploring in fact, hes on the road this very day. Somewhere. Only one thing has changed: he now makes sure he orders a shandy everywhere he goes.

Ignore the beer snobs who give this beer a low rating. This is a good damn beer. Full of flavor, not overbearing. One of the few that go good with practically any meal, too.

Delicious! Curious Traveler Shandy is perfect for summer time. I can see that drink is good for women who dont like heavy or big fans of beers.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 1/2016. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemonade, lemon peel, light pepper, wheat, cracker, light honey, light herbal/grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of lemon juice/peel, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemonade, lemon peel, light pepper, wheat, cracker, light honey, light herbal/grass, and yeast earthiness. Light lemon tartness and earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of lemon juice/peel, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a damn nice shandy style. All around great robustness and balance of lemon juice/peel, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Transfer from BA review on 10-18-12- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance Served a hazy yellow-orange colored brew (think watery orange juice with tons of pulp) with a tiny white head. The head faded fast leaving very spotty lacing. Smell The aroma was rather light. There was a orange aroma with some lighter notes of lemon and biscuit. Taste The taste was bready and sweet upfront with lemon and a wheat bread flavor. The lemon sweetness was combined with some orange sweetness more toward the middle of the taste. An overall citrus drink flavor was on the tongue at this point. In the end the citrus sweetness seems to grow even stronger, but is also accompanied by a more biscuity flavor, which with the citrus leave a sweet tart (pastry) flavor to linger on the tongue. Quite sweet but delicious. Mouthfeel - The body of the beer is rather light in terms of creaminess and is crisp on the tongue. The carbonation level is on the higher side and when combined with the crisper body, it was fantastic for the lemon tart flavors. Overall While sweet and citrusy, it is very easy drinking and delicious. This is a wonderful light dessert beer or a thirst quencher on a warmer day.
