The appearance is golden and the aroma is of a fresh beer I think due to the pure ingredients. The flavor is light but still has enough body to be acknolgeded as a qulaity beer. Overall this is my favourite beer. BENNYH (1) - USA - JUL 5, 2006 does not count
Really great lager, my new favourite! I’ve drunk it in several bars after every bartender seemed to be recommending it so i tried it and it is fabulous!! Really fresh and crisp with a rich aftertaste that just lingers long enough. It knocks the spots of every other Latin lagers - especially the Mexican ones! jklocksin (1) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 12, 2014 does not count
Simply the best, smoothest, beer I have ever tasted. Just the right amount of alcohol, tastes like real beer and not some light beer that’s basically water with a barely detectable beer flavor. Cusqueña has a true beer flavor without too much "bite" and without the heavy quality of some of the darker beers I’ve had. glider (57) - Shrub Oak, New York, USA - OCT 15, 2003
This beer truly was a pleasant surprise....smooth, crisp, funky bottle, and a standout flavor. I was impressed and thought it the same or maybe better than Cristal from Peru. Many South American beers are lousy, but this one impressed me. My friend supllied it and I can't found them around where I live. Too bad. marzenloverNM (22) - Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA - MAY 31, 2013
Just visited Cusco and found this beer a very pleasant surprise. Would highly recommend. Hope I run across again someday.

I accidentally ran upon this beer while down in Texas, and was totally stunned. It has a surprisingly smooth flavor, extremely refreshing, and comparably one of the best lagers I’ve ever had. ha1ag (946) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - APR 15, 2006
35.5 cl bottles, 5% alc, but different label than the one shown here. Very nice light yellow color, hard head, medium-to-high carbonation, in scent some hoppy mouthfeel. Very nicely composed terrace beer, matches the climate perfectly. Wheatyweiss (29) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2010
Poured from an 11.2 ounce bottle into a shaker pint. Bottle says that the brewery is Union De Cervecerias Peruanas Backus Y Johnston. Label says "All Malt Lager". This is not the same beer that is pictured, but the guidelines tell me to review the brand and not the contract brewery. This may be a mistake as this is not an adjunct lager as far as I can tell.
Pours a golden straw with a smallish head that actually clings decently. Clarity is perfect as a lager should be.
Aroma is of sweet and dusty malt. Bready and slightly dough like with a snap a floral hop barely there.
Flavor is of malt up front. Malt is bready and slightly sweet. Dusty yeast comes slghtly into the middle but yields to more malt flavors. Hops presence is almost not there, but discernable. Malt comes back heavy into the finish with a nice bready chewy finish.
Mouthfeel is crisp but with a decent slickness from the malt sugars. Very refreshing, but not spritzy at all.
Over all this is a decent all malt lager. I taste no off adjunct flavors. I really wish I could review this as a new beer, but the rules say it goes here. This beer is not and adjunct lager as I can tell. It is actually a decently crafted malty lager that stands well on it’s own.

The Incas might have defeated the Spanish if they had consumed more of this fine lager. Saurononline (135) - Madrid, SPAIN - JAN 30, 2012
Tried it in a Peruvian restaurant, not bad, and very according to the food they served, It sticks...
