Rated on 4-21-2015 (Bottle) The appearance is a medium sized light brown head that mostly diminished, opaque dark brown body, slow rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is roasted, chocolate, coffee, malt, and alcohol. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel has an alcohol burn on the first taste and then settled smoothly. This beer is full bodied. This is a very quaffable beer with an intense flavor. thedm (6319) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 21, 2015
This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a large sized head of cascading foam brown colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a opaque dark black brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The nice aroma was raisin roasted malt toasted malt dark chocolate and dark malt. The mildly vinous mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a strong dark malt aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of roasted malt mildly vinous toasted malt mild hops chocolate and dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again. 12oz bottle from Savor Pint. Brown pour with thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla. Tastes are molasses, dark fruit, milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla, roasted malt, cherry, little boozy, licorice. Low carbonation, but full palate. Itzjerm (3124) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - SEP 9, 2014
deep, inky black. Fading head. Nose is a bit gross dirty water. Taste is very lemon sour, woody something seems off in this beer. Palate is thin, Not my thing. nuplastikk (6454) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 5, 2014
12oz bottle scooped up in Columbus. Classic espresso, oily chocolate, sweet aroma. Really balanced. I’m pretty happy to have a well crafted Imperial Stout these days, and not some wacky variation of. This finishes slighty warm, the hops and alcohol have an interesting interplay. Rich sweetness, a lot of malt depth. Vanilla touches. Nice molasses tones. Good stuff.

Had this on nitro at Yogi's in Bloomington. A smooth smooth imperial stout with great roasted malt flavors. Dark yet smooth and delicious. A pleasant surprise.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter a very dark brown with a creamy head that quickly dissipates into attractive lacing.
Aroma is alcohol cocoa malty sweetness.
Taste is impressive. Chocolate licorice brown sugar malts. Finish speaks of burnt sugar-nice,
Thick to the palate balanced expertly. Very much enjoying this brew as it warms up Rando7 (787) - Iowa, USA - JAN 26, 2014
Bottle pours very dark brown-black with thin tan head. Malty aroma with molasses and roast. Taste dark caramel with roast, molasses, coffee. A bit of an ashy finish. Thick near-chewy palate. Impressive beer from a brewery I hadn’t heard much about. patrick767 (4190) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 18, 2014
tap - Pours black with a small tan head. It smells of chocolate malt, roasted coffee, and alcohol. The taste is sweet and full of roast chocolate malt. There’s some booze noticeable but it doesn’t detract from the beer. It’s full bodied and when I had it immediately after some Old Rasputin, I found the Cutter’s to be a little more intense. Both are very good, of course. Well done.
