3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was a solid IPA. It wasn’t too harsh nor too dull. I would have no problems drinking a whole bomber by myself. A solid local option for those in southern Indiana, this is the sort of beer that is made by people who care about more than the bottom line.
Aroma / Appearance - The golden carbonated body isn’t that remarkable. Bubbling up from the base with grass and lemon hints it teases the senses. The crisp hops and bright and bitter.
Flavor / Palate - Lemons, oranges, and flat Sprite take a while to settle on the back of the throat. The remaining flavors linger with a light bitterness. The finish is like mouthfeels of dead grass left out in the sun. Overall this is a nice beer but doesn’t quite have the same punch as the truly great IPAs. Even so I would give it a second chance.
Pours a hazy orange color with a medium thick off-white head that recedes gradually to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrus, earthy hops and caramel malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Average overall. Dorkenstein (564) - - APR 5, 2016
Aroma of soapy hops, lime citrus, and honey dew melons. Taste is lime, soapy hops, honeydew & cantaloupe melons, with some crackery malts to carry it through. I’ll give it this, it holds up pretty well for being in my fridge for well over a year. BrewMaster0912 (49) - Marysville, Ohio, USA - JUN 23, 2015
Pours a cloudy amber orange color with a very think and frothy cream colored head. The aroma is a light citrus and hop smell. Has a very strong citrus and hop taste and leave a bitter and dry aftertaste, a bit overpowering. Don’t recommend this beer unless this is your type. hotstuff (5263) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 14, 2015
Rated on 12-14-2013 (Bottle from Kroger’s Marketplace-Fort Wayne, IN) This beer forms a small smooth off-white head that mostly diminishes, golden transparent body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is citrus, orange, grapefruit, and lightly earthy. The flavor is very bitter, citrus, earthy, grapefruit, and light malt. The mouthfeel of this beer is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is very biter tasting which is too much for my liking. It is a hop head beer. Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is equal parts citrus hop and sweet caramel malt. Flavor is mostly malty. Large caramel malt presence but way low on hop bitterness. Hops can be barley detected after some swallows. This was not a real high octane IPA. way to much malt presence and where are the hops? Finhead (1819) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - SEP 15, 2014
Cloudy, orange pour with a small, white head and a lot of floaties. The aroma has some orange juice along with grapefruit. It has a medium body with average carbonation and a bitter taste. Itzjerm (3126) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - SEP 9, 2014
Very bitter IPA with no aroma. Malty with the bitterness but not balanced in anyway. Nice fading head. Sample from brewery. rxeight (3256) - Illinois, USA - JUL 12, 2014
