Saurer, sehr frischer Geruch.

Bottle generously shared at the RBSG grand tasting. Pours a hazy orangish gold. Aroma is slightly vegetal with some lemon notes. Nice tart lemon at the forefront with wheaty and soapy qualities. Slightly soapy bitter finish. Actually reminded me of what a berliner weisse may taste like aged in chardonnay barrels.

iwantalambic (1478) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 12, 2011
750 mL bottle, capped and < 1 year old: Pours with a thin starch white head that persists throughout the sampling. Orange, with rose hues. Crisp, slightly sour and lemon citrusy aroma. Nicely carbonated: tingly and lively. Dry mouthfeel enters after the initial fun with the carbonation. Flavors of strawberries, hay, sour grapes, wisps of honey, and limestone. Great!

Poured from a bottle. Appearance is a hazy gold with a one finger width head of white foam. Aroma is a funky cheesy scent in the best way. Taste is much the same as the sour notes are the dominating character. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation.

Believe I only had this once. Yellow pour, big frothy white head. Lot going on in here. Hints of oak, white wine, gueze, golden triple, and a fair amount of appley malt. I can only imagine this aged being pretty incredible. Would love to seek this out again.

Bottle at RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours hazy golden orange with an off white head. The aroma is tart and flowery with some earthy notes and sa light malty sweetness. The flavor is sour and tart, with oak, light sweet malty notes, and some light citric notes. Goos stuff.

Bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a hazy orange golden liquid with a minimal white head. Flavur was fruity and sour with some yeast, it also had a bitter taste. Smoth mouthfeel, medium thick body and low carbonation. Nice without bringing that extra special.

6 oz pour shared at Delilah’s by the BA guys. Thanks! Pours a nice murky orange amber hue, wirh a sunfire glowing edges. A small frothy whitish head dies to a small ring and laces small. Aromas are touches of estery fruit, pears and bananas, lemons and apples. Some crisp bready malts with a definite lambic element on the backend, with some tart acidity, funky with some sweet tarts. Bread dough, some horseblanket, and hay. Big fruity element up front. Initial is fruity up front, coarse wheat bread and fruity lemons, pears, and apples. Some crisp orange peel, wet sour fruits, with some hay, straw, stale grins and growing lactic acid on the backend. Some more funkiness, a lot of lactic acid as it gets really yogurty and fruity. Decent sourness, but the acidity grows on the back of the throat. Not bad, some good lambic elements, fairly sweet up front. Not bad, but too sweet for me.

Dark gold, clear, a light watery fizzy head... Boring nose of honey, yeast, a bit musky, boring...taste is equally boring, musky cardboard, light sour, what a disappointment

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2011 Very tart and subtle fruit flavors beer. Accelerating tartness in the finish, very traditional. Doesn’t taste mainstream or processed at all. The best of both worlds .Awesome beer a far cry from american pilsners.
