Bottle shared with my El Catadorian friends at El Catador comes to Denmark tasting. The aroma is loaded with hazelnuts. I mean LOADED! Some roasted notes. Cocoa big time too. Roasted hazelnuts and loads of cocoa in the flavor. One of a kind and if you like hazelnuts this is a +4.8. I am in between.

Pours an almost black colour with very little foam build up. Has a reddish hue at the edge of the glass. Noses like Yellow Belly Sundae without much barrel character. Lots of hazelnut extract, the labre larver note (made famous by the Aarhus fam) is there big time. Taste is rather intense, flavours are full and in okay ballance. Some roast, some soyish qualities, coffee-caramel and big hazelnut. Mouthfeel is not very full. Medium I’d say with soft carbonation. Not at all blown away by this.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2017 Thanks to Rouhlas! Aroma is massive Hazelnuts. Very impressive. Nice bitterness that comes back in taste, some bourbon, roast breaks through. Palate is sticky, oily, nutty and dry?! Tad Vanilla in the aftertaste. Great balance all the way!

Thnx to Nikos ! Pours black, no real head. Smell is intense hazelnut, crispy, roasty, nutty to the extreme. Cocoa. Damn perfect scent. Taste is full, very roasty, hazelnut, cocoa, dark malts. Roasty. I love this so much...

From notes. Enjoyed as part of the “Destroy Our Livers with the Latest Cycle Release” Bonanza (as ebone1988 so eloquently put it) with he, Aaron, Gus, and Brian on October 29. 22 oz bottle. The pour is a nice dark brown/black color with a thin ring of darker khaki colored head and no lace as it falls away completely. The aroma is pretty good. There is a nice hazelnut right up front. I like the bitterness of the cocoa initially combats the sweetness of the nuttiness. There is a growing alcohol and a light oak with a kiss of vanilla, but the hazelnut and cocoa work well together. Almost like a mocha. The flavor is just as good. The bitterness balanced out and you wind up with a light bitter vanilla mocha with a little bit of warming booze. This is pretty solid. Lots of scorched oak and a little malt. I like this one. The mouth feel is medium bodied with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly nutty chocolate mocha finish. Solid. 8 4 8 4 16
