Almost inky black. Arrives with a nice off white head. No surface wisps. Thin collar.
Smells really caramely. Rich chocolate and caramel. Smells surprisingly like Dulce de Leche.
Taste has gobs of caramel. Chocolate and a little bit of deep roasty coffee. Burnt smokey flavors come through in the back adding a dynamic, but never getting acrid. Slight malt bitterness.
Nice body at first. Very stouty. Drops off in the back though.

On draft at Peg’s and brewed there as well. Pours a deep obsidian color with a tan head. Nose is deep and dark coffee, roasted malts, some lactose sweetness, and some cafe con leche with bits of earth. Flavor follows with roasted malts, coffee, cafe con leche, and chocolate. On tap at Peg’s. Dark brown pour with a mocha colored head. Massive fudge and caramel aromas. Rich, sweet, and smooth with delicious fudge, chocolate, and caramel notes. A bit of heat, perhaps from the massive amounts of DDL. Good mouthfeel and body. Excited to try the BA version of this one......

Snifter pour at Berliner Bash, poured a dark brown color with aromas of roast, caramel, chocolate and some lactose. Draft... Berliner Bash on the Bay 2013... This beer rocks!… Murky dark brown pour with a small, creamy beige head. Good retention. For me, the aromatic highlights are chocolate crème and caramel. Full-bodied and chewy with soft carbonation. The flavor is a bittersweet blend of burnt malt, singed caramel and dark chocolate that tips its cap toward the bitter side of balance with a carbonic finish. Draft at Peg’s Cantina during the 2nd Annual Berliner Bash 2013. Shared with Linh and Maggi. Pours a murky brown body with creamy off white lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, coffee cake, sweet chocolate syrup and brownie. Mouthfeel is full and rich. Flavor captures again, most of which is found in the nose with a touch of roast in the flavor. Draft as Cycle Dulche de Leche. A pitch black beer withba dark brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish.
