Black pour, brown head that dissipates quickly. Nose is chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Taste is chocolate, bourbon barrel, huge eggcream, especially as it warms. Medium bodied, smooth and sticky. impressive. Drastically improves as it warms (yes, I know this applies to essentially all good big stouts, but this one got exceptionally better). markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 13, 2013
On draft at Cycle, as Nooner#4. Pours a deep chocolate brown color with a tan head. Nose is pure chocolatey goodness: roast, chocolate, some cafe con leche, and mild bourbon notes with hints of vanilla. Flavor is rich and sexy, but not overdone: light roast, big chocolate, sweet coffee, light bourbon, vanilla, oak, and goodness. Medium to full in body and lingering sweet, silky chocolate on the finish. Very nice imperial stout, chocolatey, but pretty balanced. bytemesis (9817) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Growler thanks to 50belair! Consumed the day it arrived :). Pours opaque black with a medium brown head, fizzy and dissipates quickly with decent lacing in its wake. Flavor is chocolate, bourbon, malts, dark sugars. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, dark fruits, roasty malts, oak. Some astringence from the wood, light bitter. Full body, a bit creamy in the mouth, hot from the ABV. Tasty brew!
