From a shared bottle. Big and dark and rich with hazelnut throughout. A lot. Sticky and big.

sample from bottle, shared at BBF, poured oily black with anon lasting tanned head on top. nose of sweet roasted malts, caramel, chocolate fudge, hazlenuts, vanilla, nutella, light peanut oil, light bourbon sweetness in the finish. nice hazzlenut taste. not as good as their hazzlnut stout do.. but pretty close up there. bit to light bodied finish like most of the nooners.

650 mL bottle. Originally reviewed 2/9/2015. Black body. Deep khaki head. Chunky collar. Wow. The hazelnuts smell incredible. Nutty. Fudgy. Rum barrel isn’t that intense, but works its way in nicely. Well, it was never going to taste as good as it smelled, but it tastes really good. Rum is sharp right up front. Oak. Then the hazelnuts hit and give it a rich nutty flavor. Deep roasted malt in the finish with a lingering rum flavor. Medium heavy. Boozy from the rum. Medium carbonation. Very tasty, but a stunning aroma.

Shared bottle at RB Crete tasting at Nikos place, Chania. Pours black, no head. Strong hazelnut aroma, also some chocolate, liquorice, vanilla and some coffee, not bad at all. Taste is moderate sweet, hazelnut, chocolate and dark ripe fruits and cherries with a light sour note . Lingering sweet/sour finish, good.

22oz bottle. Black color with a smaller sized tan head. This one was all about the Hazelnuts ... more and more hazelnuts. I really don’t like hazelnuts, but if you do, you need to get this one.

Pours a black body with a dark brown head. Aroma is just amazing!! Chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla. The taste is just perfect, if you like hazelnuts. The beer is literally a hazelnut bomb, with chocolate, coffee, vanilla backing up!!! Body is full with low carbonation.

Crowley at Happy New Beer in Sätila 160116. Opaque black beer with a nice lasting beige head. Heavy hazelnut aroma, chocolate, vanilla, licorice, cocoa notes, coffee, some spicy notes. Hazelnut flavor, spicy, chocolate, licorice, raisins, well hidden alcohol, dark chocolate, coffee notes, some peanut butter. Full bodied and with a very pleasant mouthfeel.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2016 January 16, 2016. Crowler, received in a trade with craftbeer1over, thanks!
Black with a minimal brown head. Aroma is lots of hazelnuts with sweet syrupy notes, dark chocolate, creamy vanilla and coffee notes, and caramel. Taste is medium sweet, nutty, roasted bitter. Finish is dry cocoa, smooth creamy vanilla and hazelnuts, roasted coffee, a touch of salty licorice and bitter ash notes. Medum to full bodied, soft carbonation, oily texture.
Very good, lots of syrupy hazelnuts in the aroma, a bit too bitter finish.

Crowler courtesy of Hackobock. Pours black with a rather small frothy mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and heavy nutty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, hazelnut paste (nötkräm), dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, dried bilberries, mineral and alcohol. Taste is sweet, heavy bitter, malty, nutty and earthy. Mouthfeel is soft, tiny viscous, round, , tiny astringent, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, caramelized nuts, moist soil, ash and alcohol. Tasty typical Cycle imperial stout with low roast and thick caramel malt base. Very heavy on the hazelnuts, almost a bit harsh with burnt nuts. Tasty stuff but a bit ashy and lacking in richness.
