32 oz. growler. Originally reviewed 5/6/2013. Slightly transparent black. Nice khaki head. Good surface wisps and a nice collar. Smell is nutty and roasty. Slightly sweet. Tastes roasty. Lots of bitter chocolate. Nutty caramel. Sweet. Bitter as soon as the sweetness abates. Medium bodied. Well carbonated for the age of the growler. Decent porter. Maybe would have tasted better earlier in the tasting.

Sample during RBWG Tampa, 2015. Deep brown pour with an off-white head. Nose is fairly dry and toasty. Charred grain and moderate peppered dark chocolate. Light honey. Flavor is a bit more three-dimensional. Supple cream and pain au chocolate offset by dry ashiness. Toasted nut. Medium body, smooth. Interesting.
