(Rating #1584) Ernest (7696) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 3, 2008
Head is initially average sized, creamy/frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (coffee, roasted grain, chocolate, nuts, caramel).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
One of the best coffee beer aromas I have ever encountered in my life. Yeah, the body is a bit thin, but hey, it’s 4%, so one shouldn’t expect thick’n’rich here. It certainly has a nice texture and terrific balance (a lot of coffee beers are too sour, but this isn’t). Would love to see an 8% version of this, but it’s fantastic as-is. jbean (110) - Illinois, USA - DEC 23, 2007
Draught at Pivovarsky Dum. Black with beige head. Smell of sweet coffee. Flavor is coffee, but not too deep or complex. Just like description, nice dark lager with coffee. Sweet with very slight roastiness. Very drinkable SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - DEC 16, 2007
Draught at Pivovarsky Dum. Black with a tan head. Thought that the tmave smelled like coffee until I had this... wow, smells just like a frappuccino, and I like it. The flavoe also has a big dose of coffee, but the beer underneath doesnt quite maximize the impact like it could with more roastiness. Alright... and the best of their flavored beers. shp555 (2024) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 11, 2007
Pours a deep brown color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and tons of coffee. Flavor is roasted malts and a big bitter coffee finish.

Draught. Coffee and smoke nose without much depth. Dark brown with reddish hues and a patchy brown head. Strong balanced coffee flavor. Very well done, with some hints of sweetness. Lingering carbonation. Slightly thin. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 4, 2007
Draught at the brewpub. Black - no head. Aroma: Coffee, chokolate. Taste: coffee, chokolate, roasted, light malty. Thin and watery body. Served with coffee beans on top - just for show. Strange - boring !! ogivlado (7824) - Zagreb, CROATIA - APR 11, 2007

The best Dum beer that I’ve tried. Dark brown coloured with a two coffee beans on top of the firm pale brown head. Strong coffee ice cream nose. Strong roasted malt and coffee aroma. Very smooth with some bitterness in the finish.
UPDATED: JUL 5, 2008 Interesting , deep brown /balck in colour, lots of roast malt aroma and coffee roast malt flavour... TK 2 Tap at brew pub ... Deep brown ... huge coffee nose ...nice rounded coffee tones ... smooths good malt base ... reminds me of a good porter with a shot of Tia Maria in it. fiulijn (20515) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 29, 2006
Draught at the brewpub
Dark brown color. Aroma of Nespresso. Soft body, some malt, some roasted malt and coffee. Correct bitterness. No thrill.
