A clean tasting German beer with a good flavour. The pour is of a typical helles, light amber with a creamy white head. The beer itself is hopped well and the maltiness comes through. It is not exceptional but it ain't that bad either bluevegie (3938) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 17, 2003
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2005 Good colour and nice fluffy lasting head, you can taste the malt at the start and then the hops comes through also with a little bit of lemon. Feels like something is missing though? Suttree (6504) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 10, 2003
Bright Yellow and Sizey white head. Failed to make much of an impression after that. It was clean and crisp, and it did not have any "off" flavors, but not much else. Citrusy hop finish. steasa (12) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 2, 2003
Beautiful beer.Crisp refreshing clean taste.Good balance of malt and hops flavour.Great lingering hop bitterness with a lemon tang.Excellent! MaBeer1972 (2163) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUL 26, 2003
Excellent in the Summertime or with a meal. A bit lighter and more refreshing than a Pilsner with less sticky aftertaste. The Dortmunder is getting to be among my favorite styles of beer.

Bready malt aroma. I was expecting skunk, but got none. Your average better-than-Bud German macro. Tangy hops in the finish. mixamatt (427) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 24, 2003
Sweet mild hop bread aroma.Medium golden appearance.Rich malty flavor followed by a crisp slightly salty finish. NectarFarm (128) - Calgary, CANADA - JUL 11, 2003
A DAB didn't do me. Usual bland off balanced pile of swill. I'd drink it again if an angry German had a shotgun to my head. TheDean (786) - MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 8, 2003
So I bought a mini-keg of this for WI's greatest holiday - Summerfest! A holiday built on beer and live music...what more could you want? The reason I picked this up, when the women were coming over, I wanted to be able to say, "a little Dab will do ya". ultraspank (867) - Alverca, Lisboa, PORTUGAL - JUL 7, 2003
Been looking for this one awhile. Grabbed a sixer at Viking Premium Beverage on King Ave. in Cowlumbus. Pours a light sparkling straw. The tall frothy thick white head is mostly lasting with decent lacing. The grassy and piney nose is fresh with a slight hint o yeast. The flavor is rich and deep for one of such fair complexion. The brew begins sweetish and finishes with a nice round bisquity quality. The light to medium body is creamy and soft with an astringent feel to the finish. Perfect for summertime.
