Tap. Pours opaque with a large, creamy tan head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is roast malt, coffee, vanilla and earthy hops. On tap at the brewery, aroma has notes of coffee, chocolate, toffee, some hints of roast and earth notes in there, but very coffee forward. Draft at Dad & Dude’s. Pours a deep cascading black/brown, tan head. Nose is coffee forward, soft chocolate and that’s about it. Some bready malts perhaps? Tap at brewery. Dark brown/black appearance with a light head. Dark roasted chocolate malts and espresso in the nose. Slightly bitter, a bit thin, but quite smooth dark roasted chocolate malt body with a good amount of espresso.
