Rye is a hardy northern grain that is able to grow in harsher, colder, tougher conditions where others can’t survive., much like the mountain men of the new world. Free Trappers were men who lived off the wilderness using their own skills to survive the tough environment completely independent from others. Scandinavia is a perfect place to grow rye because of its ability to thrive in this rugged region, just like the trappers of the past. Spicy, sharp aromas come creeping out of this dry, easy drinking pale ale that is made for the people of the North. Peace, love and beer!

33 cl bottle rom Systembolagets Beställningssortiment (order by the bottle section). Ordered a bottle of this when I heard the brewery was closing down. BB 07-08-2015, sampled on March 29, 2015.
Builds up a huge head when poured, settles to a long lasting very big head that leaves plenty of lacing on the glass. Clear brown color, Off-white head, almost to yellow. Grainy, bread crust, toasted, cream, a bit hoppy, herbal scent. Malty sweet, light fruity, some alcohol, bitter, pith taste. Fruity aftertaste, some dishwashing detergent aftertaste. Rather dry bitter grainy finish. Some warming alcohol. Sort of light mouthfeel, to the thin side. Medium bitterness.
When I poured in the last bit of the bottle turns hazy with loads of particles plus big chunks of stuff falling to the bottom of the glass, th elooks dives because of this, but keeping my original score as I likely shouldn’t have poured in the last bit. Taste went a tad bit acidic/yeasty with the second pour.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 2 Oct 2014) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of grapefruit, citrus and crisp-bread. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, grapefruit, a touch of crisp-bread and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, bordering to light. Quite dry. Gentle rye character, generous hop profile. Nice one.

Luktar spännande. Smakar rätt mysko. Fyrtioåtta tecken kvar... Undrar vad jag fyller dem med.
