Cask at Dale Bros. Cloudy dark amber to brown pour with decent foam. Nose is heavy red apple, some soy sauce, burn/char, something like dark tequila. Taste is extremely red apple skin tannic...moving to charred red apple. So tannic..like licking and eating only the skin of an apple for five minutes. There is some pan brewery here for their mash in, sparge time, grist pulverization, etc. that is extracting some major tannin from the malt. Needs a big fix. 18 jan 2013, tap at Dale Bros brewery. Light amber, clear, no bubbles. Nose is some alcohol and a bit winey or white grape. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Has a powdery medicine taste that really isn't very nice. Really don't want to finish this two once taster.

Pours a clear copper color with a good aroma of hops. Taste is of clean hops as if they filtered this beer extra times. A slight aftertaste consistent with its full bodied hops taste. Overall an okay beer that I thought would have more of a hoppy bite. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Tap at E! Burger. Rating# 29. Dark amber, maybe copper with a nice little white head. Light (very light) toasted aroma and a touch of sweetness. Flavor has a light hop bite with a nice clean candy sweetness, very drinkable and pretty damn good. (1444) RCL (2032) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 8, 2010
This beer smells amazing: cinnamon, nutmeg, dried citrus, toasted nuts - really complex. Surprisingly, lighter on the palate than I was expecting, but still pretty substantial. Good amount of hops with all that malt. Seems like it would be better appreciated when it turns cold outside.

From a 22oz bottle, spruce, toast white foam, frothy, amber, lightly bitter, bitter, average carbonation not bad for a winter ale brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 21, 2010
A: The pour is a clear, dark amber color with a large off-white head.
S: A nice sweet caramel malt aroma and a mild spice to it. I also pick up a slight bit of hop aroma.
T: I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. A definite sweet, caramel malt flavor, but still a mild bitterness and spiciness which add complexity to it.
M: The carbonation is moderate and the body is medium.
D: By far the best beer I have had from Dale Bros. I wouldn’t mind having this one again, and it is a big step up from their Pomona Queen. mcox90 (2130) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 11, 2010
22 oz bottle courtesy of Secret Santa. Pours amber/brown with a 1/2" off white head. Caramel malt aroma with some spice notes. Moderate bodied palate. Fairly easy drinking. Flavor is caramel malt with spice notes as well as hints of fruit. Some hints of hop as well. beersearcher (2383) - Glendale, California, USA - JAN 7, 2010
This is a schizo beer. Pours orange/red. First aromas are the piney hops. Then if you linger you can smell some cinnamon. Then you take a sip and it’s like an amber mixed with a pilsner. Smooth. Very biscuity and crisp. I like it. goldtwins (4319) - Nesconset, New York, USA - MAR 21, 2009
Poured a hazy golden amber with a thin off-white head but also some legs. Sweet caramel/toffee aroma with earthy and minty hop notes. Malty and earthy flavor. Mildly bitter finish. Medium bodied.
