Bottle. Black beer with a light head. The aroma is very roasted with a hint of chocolate, and the flavour is very bitter with a hint of sweetness and milk but generally dry. Overall a good beer. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 31, 2006
(Bottled) Very dark reddish brown color with a smallish, tight, beige, lacy head. An "Imperial Stout light" aroma of roasted malt, hops, licorice and black coffee with sour hints. Some dark chocolate can be found by extensive digging. Roasted-malty, dry-black-coffeeish flavor with a reasonable amount of hops, and some sourness. The finish fades away pretty quickly without much hops to go with. Light to medium-bodied, slightly burned palate with medium carbonation. A very nice stout, but it’s hard to find the chocolate here (which is not necessarily a bad thing). hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2008
Very dark brown with a beige head. Ashy chocolate aroma. Taste has coffee and cocoa plus a little sourness. Not a great deal of bitterness: in fact the whole thing is a bit low key. rauchbier (3927) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2007
Bottle, from Netto. Jet Black, excellent lasting fluffy beige head and gentle condition. Pleasant liquorice, burnt coffee, chocolate and buttery notes in the nose, slightly muted in the mouth with a dry tinniness intruding on the chocolate sweetness and coffee bean bitterness, roasted barley and chocolate nesquik in the finish but shorter than I expected from the nose. Pretty good though for only 4% abv.

Bottled at Monks Cafe, Stockholm. Dark brown with a creamy tan-colored foam. Quite rich and smooth aroma of dark chocolate, molasses, oats, honey and cinnamon. Medium-to light-bodied with acidic notes of burnt malts and black chocolate. medium-bitter finish of black chocolate, burnt malts and mild smoke. A bit more chewy mouthfeel, then this would be quite amazing. Brandman (2963) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 30, 2009
500 ml bottle. Aroma has roasted malt in it, maybe some fruity hoppiness too. The chocolade is not present. Taste is roasted and bitter. Not choko here either. Little bit too carbonated. Tranquillity (2484) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 10, 2006
Bottle. Almost completely black with a small beige head. Strong chocolate aroma. Thick beer with taste of tar, mocca and chocolate. A bit watery in the relatively short finish. Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 2, 2008
Bottle at Chris_O’s 19th April 2008 tasting. Dark with a line of tan head. Balanced chocolate & malt aroma, complemented by an equally subtle flavour. A bit thin but a nice change from full-on choccy stouts. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 20, 2008
Bottle (in NZ), pours black with a large pillowy brown head. Roasted malt on the nose, with plenty of chocolate and slightly buttery. Lots of chocolate in the malty palate as well, a smooth texture with some smokiness in the finish. I would happily drink a few of these.
